An anonymous tipster has just sent us a couple of photographs of what he is calling the LG Prada P940. Actually, it looks like the LG Prada K2, which is expected to be an Android powered version of the handset. This would be the third version of the LG Prada with the first model widely considered to be the first touchscreen cell phone commercially available. Our tipster says that this is not the final design.
With Gingerbread installed, this will be the first "smartphone" version of the LG Prada, which will come in at under 9mm thin. The 4.3 inch NOVA display comes with more than 1,000 nits allowing for a very bright screen. An 8MP camera is on back with a 1.3MP camera up front. n HSDPA+ ra...

Today, in the heart of the Big Apple, LG held its annual Texting Championship where 10 finalists from across the country, including last year’s champion, duked it out on stage against one another to become the lone standing 2011 LG Texting champion.
Indeed, thumbs were flying all over the place as the contestants used the LG Doubleplay to dish out some passages of text on its intriguing split-style QWERTY keyboard. After a solid hour of competition, the only players that remained standing were none other than Wisconsin native Austin Wiershke and last year’s winner, Brianna Hendrickson. During their heads-up session, both players had to text phrases using their LG Doubleplay smartphones, but ...

While it may have originally been pegged for a November 2 release, the dual-screen packing LG DoublePlay is now on sale at T-Mobile for $99.99 with a new two-year contract or a qualified two year upgrade.
We were first introduced to the LG DoublePlay back in May and it was just two weeks ago that the first official press shots of the dual-screen smartphone surfaced. The DoublePlay is an Android 2.3 device and is powered by a single-core 1GHz processor. The main display of this smartphone measures in at 3.5-inches.
What makes the DoublePlay unique is what you see when you slide out the full QWERTY keyboard. In the middle of the keyboard is a 2-inch display that can operate separately or in ...

A few weeks back LG formally announced the LG Optimus LTE, an Android 2.3 device that literally comes stacked with impressive specs: 4.5–inch “True HD IPS” display that has a resolution of 1280 x 720, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 8 megapixel camera that shoots 720p HD videos, 1830 mAh battery and 10.4 mm thin. Solid device and is LTE-capable, which would mean that one of our carriers could essentially release this. However, LG Canada sent us note saying they don’t have any information regarding a Canadian launch, we’re keeping our fingers crossed”. Guess it's time to uncross those fingers and get ready to grab hold of this Android. A promo video has surfaced online from Bell-owned retailer T...

A couple of weeks ago we brought you news of an upcoming and as yet to be launched LG device called the LU6200. We said it would ship with LTE support and a 4.5 inch 720p resolution screen. Today the LU6200 is no more, it now has an official name: the LG Optimus LTE. Inside this beast is a 1.5 GHz dual core processor. Who makes it? No idea. There’s 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory, and it’ll ship with a 16 GB SD card in the box. The thing that makes the Optimus LTE stand out is of course the delicious 4.5 inch 1280 x 720 pixel screen. Said display will be the first to make use of brand spanking new AH-IPS technology; it was recently rated as being superior to Samsung’s Super AMOLED Plus ...

LG Optimus 3D gets its 3D game converter via software update

Posted on Oct 04, 2011 by MG1

The 3D game converter that LG announced would be coming to the Optimus 3D smartphone is now being pushed to the device via a software update. If you remember from August when the feature was announced, the 3D game converter will allow users to convert 2D games into 3D on-the-fly on their 3D-enabled smartphones.
Nearly any game that uses OpenGL graphics can be converted from 2D into 3D using the software, but LG is compiling a list of officially supported titles. Games that are not on LG's supported list can be forced into 3D mode, but the manufacturer does not guarantee that the conversion will work.
The software update for the Optimus 3D does not include Android 2.3 Gingerbread unfortunatel...

The phone that is labeled as the HTC Revolution 4G is obviously not that device. Checking out the elements for the page using Google Chrome reveals it to be one of two unannounced LG myTouch models.

LG Optimus S Gingerbread update halted by Sprint after issues reported

LG Optimus S Gingerbread update halted by Sprint after issues reported

Posted on Sep 28, 2011 by MG1

Sprint recently started rolling out the Android 2.3 update for the LG Optimus S. While those with the phone were excited about the update, there have been many complaints from those with the LG Optimus S about problems that have popped up with the device since the new software was downloaded. As a result, Sprint has put a halt to the update and is looking to send out a fixed version of the OS to those whose phone is no longer working correctly.
Some of the problems that LG Optimus S owners have had after updating to Android 2.3 include a failure of the phone's battery to recharge, the inability to connect to data, a message that the microSD card is un-mounted or removed and when connected to...

Last Saturday, we showed you pictures of a device that LG had put up a teaser page for, the LG LU6200 which is also rumored to be the LG Revolution 2. The first-gen LG Revolution was launched on May 26th and not enough time has elapsed to really start thinking about a sequel, even taking into consideration the shorter life cycles that most models have these days. Besides, the LG LU6200 is being aimed at the moment for the Korean market only, where pre-orders are starting on Sunday with a launch scheduled for early next-month. By the time the device reaches the States-if it ever does-more months will have gone by since the original LG Revolution was rolled out making the time between the orig...
