WD Dishes Out Pricey My Book Thunderbolt Drive
Like UnlikeFiled in: WD
Western Digital said on Thursday that it is now shipping the My Book Thunderbolt Duo, an external dual-drive storage system with an ultra-fast data transfer rate thanks to Intel's Thunderbolt technology. It arrives in both 4 TB and 6 GB capacities, costing a hefty $599.99 and $699.99 respectively.
WD reports that the My Book Thunderbolt Duo can be configured by the end-user in three ways: RAID 0 for speed (striping), RAID 1 for data protection (mirroring), and JBOD for using the two drives individually (Just a Bunch Of Disks) in HFS+J or ExFAT.
The My Book is also user-serviceable, meaning consumers can simply open the casing and replace the existing drive(s) when needed -- there's no need...

Is this the Nokia Lumia 719c?
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesNOKIA
China is getting even closer to its first taste of Nokia Windows Phone and it might include a new phone entirely. While we're still two weeks away from Mr. Elop's proposed March 28th launch, the leaked shot above is purported to be the Lumia 719c -- a previously unseen Windows Phone that could arrive in time for Nokia's latest smartphone push. It has that familiar curved shape and plastic build, but there's some slight design riffs to set it apart from both the Lumia 710 and 610 -- one of which it'll likely replace in Chinese stores. We only have Mr. Blurrycam's one-shot portrait to go on so far, but expect to see some price-constrained specs like those seen on Nokia's other entry-level smar...

NetZero reinvents itself as America's first free 4G service provider
Like UnlikeNetZero burst onto the scene in 1998 as the first in a crop of Internet service providers that gave subscribers free access to the Web using an advertising-supported model. NetZero’s patented ad technology displayed highly targeted ads to users as they browsed the Internet at dial-up speeds, but it was forced into a freemium model when a number of other ISPs began offering free Web access as well. NetZero continues to offer basic paid dial-up and broadband services, but now the company is going back to its roots in an effort to disrupt the wireless industry as it did to the dial-up industry nearly 14 years ago.

Benchmark of an upcoming Sony tablet with quad-core Tegra 3 processor appears
Like UnlikeFiled in: TabletsSony
Sony appears to have a new device coming down the pipe, appearing as V150 on NenaMark 2 tests. The tablet will be powered by the quad-core Tegra 3 chip, which explains the close to 60fps results in the graphics benchmark test. The submitter is listed as S1, which is also the codename of the first Sony Android tablet, so the V150 is likely a souped-up successor.

NEC unveils ultra-slim battery: a breakthrough?
Like UnlikeFiled in: NEC
NEC has unveiled its developing a new ultra slim type of battery it refers to as organic radical battery (ORB) that can be printed into 0.01-inch (0.3mm) thin circuit boards. The battery could be installed on credit cards and bendable screens, and is expected to be ready for rollout in 2013.

Except for being extremely thin, the ORB battery is also made without the toxic heavy metals required for today’s batteries. Instead,...
