Motorola DROID RAZR HD appears in Cellebrite system
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesMotorola
The Cellebrite system is what carriers use to move over some of the data from your old phone, like the contacts list, to your new phone. While the inclusion of a phone model in the system doesn't automatically mean that a launch is imminent, it can be a sign that a release is getting closer. Thanks to a leaked photo, we can see that third party Cellebrite machines are now showing the DROID RAZR HD as model number XT926. Verizon customers and your everyday variety DROID fans have been waiting to see what the Motorola DROID RAZR HD would look like and check out the specs.

HTC Sensation XL getting its Ice Cream Sandwich dessert
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesOperating SystemsHTCGoogleSensation XLAndroid 4.0
Users of the HTC Sensation XL, mostly in Europe and Asia, have received the Android 4.0 update over the air. To make sure you have received it, go to Settings > About phone > Software updates and hit that button. You will be downloading a 200MB package which means those with a strict data cap might want to wait for a Wi-Fi connection before installing it. The exact build that you will be updating to is Android 4.0.3 while HTC Sense remains at 3.6. This brings users some of the new ICS features like Face Unlock, the new app dock and the multi-tasking menu. What you won't be getting is the new UI found on devices carrying HTC Sense 4.0.

Sharp Pantone 5 ICS phone has 8 color choices, 3.7-inch screen - oh, and a radiation detector
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSHARP
Color us shocked and jealous at the new Android 4.0 phone from Sharp -- strange and wonderful even by Japan's highly elevated standards. The eight colors of the 3.7-inch Pantone branded phone from carrier Softbank are nice for sure, but the ability to sense between .005 and 9.99 μSv/h of radiation is in a new category altogether. Though Sharp has hedged a bit by describing the detector as "non-compliant" with Japan standards at this point, the possibilities seem endless for such a feature -- the ability to constantly report your location and radiation level to Facebook comes to mind, for instance. It will be offered -- in Japan only, we presume -- with a 4-megapixel rear camera, eight Panton...

LG E970 for AT&T with Adreno 320 GPU comes out on top of graphics benchmarks
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesLGAT&T
Now we don't know whether the LG E970 for AT&T that appeared in GLBenchmark's database will sport the dual-core MSM8960 Pro Snapdragon, or the quad-core APQ8064, but it will surely sport the new Adreno 320 graphics processor, judging from the GPU details revealed.
The specs also list HD 1280x768 pixels display and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and we've heard before that the Sprint version - LG LS970 "Eclipse" - of this new LG flagship might feature 2GB of RAM, like the LG Optimus LTE 2, and sport a quad-core processor, so that's what could be in store for AT&T's version as well.

Motorola DROID 3 gets update that fixes MMS bug, improves 3G connectivity and more
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesMotorolaDROID 3
The Motorola DROID 3 was the last of the tank-like handsets to not offer 4G LTE connectivity. Surpassed since by the Motorola DROID 4, the device remains an underrated device with one of the best physical QWERTY keyboards to ever slide out the side of a smartphone, and a dual-core processor. Whether it was a matter of the phone showing its age, or just an unfortunate bug that afflicted the device, many Motorola DROID 3 users had found themselves unable to send or receive an MMS message and even installing a third party program from the Google Play Store failed to help. Long talks with Verizon's technical team couldn't solve the problem. But there is a happy ending thanks to an OTA firmware ...

Leaked S Voice app working again on non-Samsung phones
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungGalaxy S III
Days after Samsung confirmed to us that it was restricting use of its S Voice app on handsets other than the Galaxy S III, the service appears to be working again. At least on our Sharp Aquos Phone that we've been testing S Voice on from the beginning, normal service has been resumed and the app is performing as well as it ever did. After Samsung initially blocked the service, some enterprising modders managed to alter the APK to get it back up and running again, but we haven't done anything other than install the file that originally leaked.

The personal assistant for Android known as Samsung S-Voice has been released on the Galaxy S III smartphone and has been hacked and distributed to the public at the same time. This application works much in the same way as the Galaxy S II voice assistant did when it was released last year and is now being called an Apple Siri-rival due to the relative popularity of that system. Here you’ll be able to download the application and install it on any Android device capable of running it.

Samsung registers Galaxy Rush, Amp and Helm names
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsung
Samsung has laid a claim to three new potential phone names, registering Galaxy Rush, Galaxy Amp and Galaxy Helm with the US Patent and Trademark Office.
The three new trademarks were filed on May 21 and listed as 'mobile telephones; smartphones' so there's a good chance they're intended for phones of some kind.
Does that mean we'll be seeing the Samsung Galaxy Rush replace the Samsung Galaxy S3? Will the Samsung Galaxy Amp be the company's Beats-beater? Can anyone really face going into a shop and asking for a Samsung Galaxy Helm?

Samsung has revealed another new Android smartphone, the Galaxy Ace DUO, and though it may not match the Galaxy S III on specs, it does have one minor advantage.
