HP Z1 Workstation AIO has a 27-inch flip-up screen, lets you easily open its chassis

Posted on Feb 20, 2012 by MG15

It looks like HP isn't satisfied with its current workstation lineup: the company has added an all-in-one to the powerful, business-class series. It's called the Z1 Workstation, and other than desktop-grade silicon, the AIO makes a bit of a statement with its chassis. Sure, it is a bit chunky, but it makes up for that by being easy-to-access and customizable. The Z1's 27-inch IPS 2560 x 1440 display snaps open like a lid, leaving its 4 PCI express card slots (one full-sized 16x), three hard drive bays, and four memory slots laid bare for you to tinker with. The base configuration is expected to arrive in April for $1,899 with a 3.33GHz Core i3-2120 and integrated graphics. Of course, being a...

HP Unwraps Omni 27 All-in-One PC and HPE h9 Phoenix Gaming System Ahead of CES

Posted on Jan 04, 2012 by MG3

Most vendors are using the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas as a launchpad for new products, but a select few are tipping their hand ahead of the convention. Hewlett-Packard is one of them, presumably because it's saving CES for its big Spectre Ultrabook reveal. In the meantime, HP has decided to share a handful of new systems, including its first 27-inch all-in-one (AIO) PC and a Phoenix gaming system the OEM claims is the "most powerful HP Pavilion PC to date."

HP Explains Decision to Shop Its PC Business

HP Explains Decision to Shop Its PC Business

Posted on Aug 22, 2011 by MG15

Hewlett Packard created more waves than a tsunami yesterday when the OEM confirmed rumors that it plans to dump its PC business, yet still managed to surprise industry analysts by announcing the end of operations for webOS devices, and specifically the slow selling TouchPad and webOS phones. Now that the the dust has settled, it's time to look at why HP thinks reinventing itself is a good idea.

In one of several press releases issued late yesterday, HP said it has the full support of its board of directors to evaluate "strategic alternatives" to its Personal Systems Group, "including the exploration of the separation of its PC business into a separate company through a spin-off or other tra...

Slim new HP TouchSmart AIO highlighted in leaked promo video

Posted on Aug 15, 2011 by MG3

A tipster sent in what looks to be a video of a forthcoming HP all-in-one. The TouchSmart 520 is a slim device, propped up by two "sweeping support arms," which allow the PC to be adjusted, much like in past models. Not a lot of specs to go on at this point, though the system does sport a "high definition display" and souped up audio courtesy of Beats. Enjoy the rendered slickness in the video after the break.
