We didn't have much to complain about when it came to Samsung's flagship phone and tablet, so we're glad to see that both the Galaxy S II and Tab 10.1 have managed to jump through the requisite hoops for FIPS certification. The business-centric feature means that both Samsung devices have been given the thumbs up for use in governmental agencies and other similarly stickler-for-the-rule industries. While the Tab 10.1 certainly isn't the first tablet to receive the certification, it's perhaps the most pervasive.

Verizon Wireless announced on Tuesday that it will offer Samsung’s 4G LTE Galaxy Tab 10.1 beginning Thursday, July 28th. There will be 16GB and 32GB models available for $529 and $629, respectively. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 runs Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) and is equipped with a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800-pixel resolution display, a 3-megapixel camera capable of recording HD video, and a 2-megapixel forward-facing camera for video chats. Customers can choose from three different monthly data plans from Verizon Wireless, including a $30 2GB option, a $50 5GB option, and an $80 10GB option. Well, it may not have launched this past Thursday but the LTE-equipped Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 pre-orders look to begin shipping on Tuesday, the 26th. This could mean that the powerful Honeycomb tablet could also become available in Verizon stores later in the week.
The super thin Android tablet should be quite the hit now that it has the nation’s fastest network underneath the hood. Of course, you’re gonna have to pay to play but that may be a non-issue for some. We loved the WiFi versions of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and having LTE added in just makes it that much more appealing. While the tablet is still lacking the Android 3.2 update that the Motorola Xoom just received, we’d still pick Samsun...
