NEC said Monday that it has developed a new lithium-ion battery technology that doubles the life span of conventional models.
The new technology will be used in large batteries for applications such as electrical power systems in buildings and homes, where longevity is a major concern, the Tokyo-based electronics conglomerate said.

NEC just introduced two new monitors, with the ultra-slim, 20-inch MultiSync EX201W and 24-inch MultiSync P241W for professionals. The former is meant for home use or business applications and offers a 1600x900 resolution and a relatively slim 16.4mm thickness. It also has a 25,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a 1,000:1 typical contrast ratio.
Other specs bring a 250cd/m2 brightness and a 5ms response time, while the horizontal and vertical viewing angles are 176 and 170, respectively. Connections include a DisplayPort and DVI-I inputs, with a USB port also present. An ambient light and a human presence sensor save energy.

NEC announced earlier this month the release of their PX750U projector. Today, the company announced two new models that will be joining the PX series, the PX700W and PX800X. Both projectors use the latest in DLP display technology and have a 2100:1 contrast ratio. They will also support a native WXGA (1280 x 800) and XGA (1024 x 768) resolution, respectively.
