Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi only now available for 329 GBP
Like UnlikeFiled in: TabletsMotorolaXOOM
Not sure whether we should put the “hot deal” sign near this… Motorola Xoom is now available for 329 GBP (about $540) from Dixons in the UK. If this deal was available 6 months ago, we would definitely go all crazy about it; alas today it’s a very different market and I’m not sure that many people actually want Moto’s Honeycomb tablet with so many other options available for pretty much the same amount of cash. Asus’ Eee Pad Transformer is definitely a better device thanks to its detachable QWERTY keyboard / external battery pack. But if you want just the tablet “part,” you may want to grab the Xoom anyways.
The 3G-enabled Xoom, in case you wonder, could be yours for 399 GBP, which translate...

Motorola XOOM 4G LTE upgrade begins next week
Like UnlikeFiled in: TabletsMotorolaXOOM
Motorola has started to email XOOM customers to alert them that it will begin to upgrade the XOOM with support for 4G LTE next week. According to Droid-Life, Motorola will start with business and government customers during a “pilot program” first and then will begin updating XOOMs owned by the general public. Customers will need to file an upgrade request before Motorola mails a package containing a pre-paid FedEx box and instructional material. Motorola suggests backing up the data on your XOOM before sending it in and said the process should take approximately three business days. Read on for an image confirming the details.

Motorola Xoom getting Android 3.1 in Europe
Like UnlikeFiled in: TabletsMotorolaXOOM
Motorola has finally started rolling out Android 3.1 updates for its Xoom tablet. The keyword here is “started” — just because some people you know already got it, it doesn’t mean you’ll get the update on the same day too. Quite the contrary, the launch will go “in stages”. Here’s what the company said at its Facebook page:

Apple also filed suit against Motorola Xoom in Europe

Apple isn't just going after the Samsung Galaxy Tab in Europe, it's also attacking the Motorola Xoom.
Apple's lawsuit, which was filed in Germany and led to Tuesday's injunction barring sales of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Europe, makes reference to a separate complaint against the Motorola Xoom.

Official: Verizon Motorola Xoom owners get 4G LTE upgrade in September
Like UnlikeFiled in: TabletsMotorolaVerizon WirelessXOOM
The Motorola Xoom, the very first device to run Google’s tablet version of Android known as Honeycomb, hit store shelves on February 24th of this year. When Verizon announced it, they said that at some point in the future, most likely during the summer, customers will be able to get a free hardware upgrade that adds support for 4G LTE. Such an upgrade will require that you send your Xoom in for modification, and it’ll take up to a week to perform the necessary labor. To say Xoom owners have been impatient with regards to finding out when this free upgrade program would begin would be an understatement. The situation didn’t exactly improve when earlier this week Verizon announced that they’d ...

Motorola XOOM tablet 4G LTE upgrade coming in September
Like UnlikeFiled in: TabletsMotorolaXOOM
If you can remember way back to February of this year when Verizon Wireless launched the Motorola XOOM, the first Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet to hit the market, the carrier had promised that it would get its anemic 3G CDMA radio upgraded to a speedy 4G LTE unit by this summer. Well, it appears Verizon's summer extends into September, as we have just received word from the carrier that the ninth month of this year is when the LTE upgrade will be available to XOOM owners.
Users will still have to part with their precious tablets for a undetermined amount of time in order to send the XOOM in to Motorola to get the upgrade, but the company has said in the past that it should take no longer than...

Android 3.2 Hits Motorola Xoom, SDK Released
Like UnlikeFiled in: Operating SystemsTabletsMotorolaGoogleXOOMAndroid 3.2
Android 3.2 Honeycomb has just been released and it includes a number of bug fixes and other upgrades to the tablet version of Google’s mobile software platform. Moreover, the release shows better support for multiple screen resolutions, which means manufacturers can just go nuts with their screen sizes, within reason. What we have to look forward to are 7-inch Android tablets, which are arguably more portable than their 10-inch counterparts.
