Asus, HTC Unlikely to Join Google's Chromebook Party
Like UnlikeFiled in: NotebooksOperating SystemsASUSHTCGoogleChromium OS
Google this week announced a second generation Chromebook model from Samsung, the Series 5 550, which dispenses with the previous generation Chromebook's Atom N570 processor and replaces it with a dual-core Celeron B867 chip sporting Sandy Bridge DNA. That's well and good if you're into Chromebooks, except that companies like Asus and HTC aren't tripping over themselves trying to launch second generation Chromebook models of their own.

Best Buy now offers Wi-Fi only HTC Flyer with stylus for $499.99
Like UnlikeFiled in: NotebooksHTCFlyer
Looking to grab yourself the HTC Flyer but don’t want a carrier (Sprint) contract? There’s the Wi-Fi only version which up until this point was available for $499.99 via Best Buy. There was one caveat though – that money didn’t get you the stylus, which the electronics retailer sold separately for $79.99. In total you had to pour out $580 for the combined package. That’s a lot of money and although we love Flyer, we’re not sure pretty confident it’s not worth it. Heck even $500 is a lot of money, but then again there still isn’t that many options in the 7-inch tablet market. Hopefully that will change soon, but in the meantime – those of you with the cash and urgent need to spend it can proc...

According to Sprint, the EVO View 4G is one of the first Android tablets to have compatibility with the Netflix app. We went ahead and updated our EVO View 4G review unit, and, sure enough, the Netflix app is now available in the Android Market and works like a charm, allowing us to stream movies and TV shows and manage our Netflix instant queue right from the EVO View 4G.
EVO View 4G owners can head to the Systems Updates menu in the Settings app and select the HTC software update option to download and install the u...

According to some spicy rumors, HTC has another media event scheduled for June 27, and just like the case was with the Sensation's announcement, the party will supposedly take place in London. Besides that, it has been said that during the event, HTC will introduce the latest addition to its portfolio of high-tech devices.
