AFOX out of Hong Kong showed off a custom made Radeon HD 7850 card at CeBIT as vrzone reported. The card is the first single slot Radeon HD 7850 card we've seen so far and despite this, AFOX has managed to squeeze in four display connectors.
The AF7850-1024D5S1 as the card is awkwardly called also differs in terms of its overall specification compared to AMD's reference cards. For one, the GPU is clocked at 900MHz rather than 860MHz, a fairly modest overclock, but still a peculiar move considering the single slot the design. Many reports on the web indicate that NVIDIA's GK104 will launch later this month as the GeForce GTX 680. The card reportedly offers 1536 CUDA cores and a 256-bit memory controller, the standard models will get 2GB GDDR5 memory but there will also be a variant with 4GB GDDR5.
For the first time since the introduction of GDDR5, NVIDIA's GPU will be able to drive GDDR5 memory higher than AMD, which created the memory standard.

The fact that Sapphire has been working on a Radeon HD 7970 graphics card with an obscene 6 GB of memory has been known since the end of 2011. The said card, the Sapphire Toxic HD 7970 6GB, has already taken shape, and was spotted running at CeBIT. Such as it is, AMD utilizes 2 Gbit GDDR5 memory chips in numbers of 12 to achieve 3 GB of memory across a 384-bit wide memory interface, on its HD 7970. CeBIT 2012 is kicking off tomorrow but already the show floor is buzzing with cameras taking pictures of the hardware on display. One such camera, handled by the lab501 team, spotted at MSI's booth the R7970 Lightning, a highly-customized Radeon HD 7970 targeting enthusiasts and overclockers.
Seen below, the incoming Tahiti-based card makes use of Military Class III components (Hi-c CAP, SFC, Solid CAPs) and has an oversized PCB, 14+2-phase digital power, a Twin Frozr IV dual-fan heatsink, a backplate, and something called a GPU Reactor. MSI announced two Radeon HD 7800 series graphics cards, both based on its TwinFrozr III cooling solution, albeit different variants. The R7870 TwinFrozr III from MSI uses a long PCB, and a meatier version of the TwinFrozr III cooler, which has been featured on high-end GeForce GTX 500 and Radeon HD 6900 series, in the past. It uses five 8 mm-thick nickel-plated copper heat pipes to convey heat drawn directly from the GPU, to a large aluminum fin array, ventilated by two 80 mm fans. XFX announced its Radeon HD 7870 Double Dissipation graphics card. The card features the same large-version of the company's Double Dissipation cooling assembly that's also featured on some of its Radeon HD 7900 series products, making it a monster overclocker. The Double Dissipation cooler uses an aluminum fin stack to which heat is conveyed by copper heat-pipes, which draw heat directly from the GPU die. Dutch add-in board maker Club 3D has joined the Radeon HD 7800 party too by announcing not two but four cards powered by the Pitcairn 28 nm GPU. Two of those cards are based around AMD's reference model while the other two come equipped with a custom fansink utilizing the CoolStream High Performance Cooling Technology.
According to Club 3D its CoolStream solution "features high performance heatpipes that keeps the components cool and outperforms standard cooling solutions. Transferring heat from the center area to each fin, ensuring enhanced heat dissipation. The result is a dramatic increase of performance for your gaming and multimedia experience."

ASUS kicked off its Radeon HD 7800 series with two non-reference design implementations, DirectCu II TOP, at that. Both the ASUS Radeon HD 7870 and Radeon HD 7850 DirectCu II TOP use a 2-slot variant of ASUS’ coveted dual-fan cooler, and based on what appear to look like a non-reference design PCBs. The DirectCu II cooler consists of a combination of a heatsink and an aluminum fin array, to which heat is conveyed by copper heat-pipes that make direct contact with the GPU die. The cooler makes use of two large fans to ventilate the heatsink. As TOP models, the two should feature 5-10% factory OC, out of the box. There’s no word on the pricing.

AMD just launched the Radeon HD 7800 series graphics cards, consisting of two models, the Radeon HD 7870, and the Radeon HD 7850, targeting crucial price-points that appeal PC gamers. The two models are based on new 28 nm silicon by AMD, codenamed “Pitcairn,” which packs 2.8 billion transistors. The new chip takes advantage of AMD’s Graphics CoreNext architecture.
The Radeon HD 7870 packs 1280 GCN stream processors, 80 texture memory units (TMUs), 32 raster operations units, and a 256-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 2 GB of memory.
