Today, the company announced that this month they will reach a new record and cross the 10000 unit mark for 4K HD projectors shipped. These particular projectors feature a 4K (4096 x 2160) resolution, which is currently the biggest resolution used by typical movie theaters. Panasonic was proud to announce today the launch of what they are calling the world’s first LCD 3D projector, the PT-AE7000E. This device is capable of displaying full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 2000 ANSI lumens, and an impressive 300000:1 contrast ratio. Optoma unveiled last month their latest pico projector, the PK120. Today, the company unveiled that this device is now available worldwide. The projector features 18 ANSI lumens, a native 640 x 360 resolution and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. The device uses the new nHD DLP chipset from Texas Instruments, which ensures a higher resolution. This is also the first pico projector from Optoma to be able to display MS Office and PDF files in their native format. Acer announced today the launch of their latest 3D projector, the K330. This device is designed for portable users and uses LED lamps to display 500 ANSI lumens, a WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution, and a 4000:1 contrast ratio. The connection panel includes a diverse selection of inputs like an SD card, USB port, RGB, HDMI, and a composite input. The projector also has WiFi capabilities. Unfortunately there isn’t a lot of additional information at this time. But Acer says that the K330 is available now in the UK. The retail price is about £498 ($787).

3M announced today the second generation of their projector camera, the CP45. This device is a pico projector with a built in camcorder that can record HD (1280 x 720) resolution video or 5mp still pictures. The projector portion is capable of displaying 20 ANSI lumens and a SVGA (800 x 600) resolution. It can create images as large as 65”, diagonally, but probably needs relatively dark rooms to do so. 3M has included other features like a 2.4” LCD screen, 2GB memory, a micro SD card slot, and AV inputs. The CP45 will be available soon for about $299.

Epson has recently unveiled two new projectors for the educational market, the PowerLite S11 and X12. These two models are expected to replace two other projectors in Epson’s lineup. The S11 features 2600 ANSI lumens, a SVGA (800 x 600) resolution, and a 3000:1 contrast ratio. The X12 has the same contrast ratio, but also comes with a native XGA (1024 x 768) resolution and 2800 ANSI lumens. Both projectors have been given a wide array of features, like an assortment of setup features, an extended lamp life, direct power on/off, and closed captioning. The S11 and X12 are both available now through certified retailers. They retail for $449 and $549, respectively.

JVC was proud to announce yesterday 7 new projectors that will be joining their 3D lineup later this year. These models are upgrades to previous models and are all capable of displaying an impressive 3840 x 2160 resolution.
