Sony VPL-VW95ES Projector Announced

Sony is one of the many companies unveiling new products this week at IFA. Today, the company announced the launch of their latest 3D projector, the VPL-VW95ES. This device is capable of displaying full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 1000 ANSI lumens, and an impressive 150000:1 contrast ratio. The VW95ES is the company’s second generation 3D projector and the improvements are noticeable. The connection panel will include two HDMI ports as well as a component and a RGB port. There will also be an Ethernet port for network capabilities. “It offers superb picture quality with high dynamic contrast ratio (150,000:1) and a more real cinematic experience.

Epson Releases Three New EX Series Projectors

Epson announced today three new projectors that have been released towards the entrepreneurs and small business fields. The models include the EX3210, EX5210, and the EX7210 and they are all capable of displaying a 3000:1 contrast ratio and 2800 ANSI lumens. The only major difference is their resolution capabilities which are SVGA (800 x 600), XGA (1024 x 768), and WXGA (1280 x 800) respectively. Today, the company announced the release of three new projectors, the PJD5133, PJD5233, and the PJD5523w. GIA Releases Prediction of Pico Projector Growth

Ever since pico projectors first entered the market, industry predictors believed that these devices were going to expand and become very popular. The latest group to state this assumption is GIA (Global Industry Analysts). In their forecast they state that the pico projector industry will be selling over 97.5 million units by 2017. They also predict that revenue will total over $10 billion by that time. GIA predicts that the cause of the growth will be the development of embedded pico projectors. However, integrating projectors into other products has proven sluggish and not terribly popular at this time.

BenQ Announces New Short Throw Interactive Projectors

BenQ unveiled three new projectors today that will be joining their lineup shortly. The devices include the MX850UST, MW851UST, and MX813ST. All of these projectors can display DLP display technology and are designed with short throw lenses. The MX850UST and MW851UST both feature a native 13000:1 contrast ratio and 2500 ANSI lumens. Today, the company announced a new addition to their dVision series, the dVision Scope 1080p projector. This device is the first from the company to feature a native anamorphic aspect ratio. The only specifications that the company is releasing at this time are a native 2560 x 1080 resolution and a 2.35:1 aspect ratio. This wide resolution eliminates the black bars that are commonly found above and below the image.

ViewSonic Releases PJD5223 Projector in UK

ViewSonic announced earlier this month the upgraded projectors coming from their PJD5 series. Today, the company announced the UK release of the PJD5223. This device features 2700 ANSI lumens, a 2000:1 contrast ratio, and XGA (1024 x 768) resolution. ViewSonic designed the projector for educational purposes, but also included 3D capabilities as well. The projector is light weight, weighing only 5.7 lbs, which makes it capable of traveling between classrooms.

Runco is the leading brand in luxury display solutions. Today, the company was proud to announce the release of a new addition to their QuantumColor series, the Q-650i. The device is capable of displaying 450 ANSI lumens, a 20000:1 contrast ratio, and full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. The main feature is the LED lamp system. This doesn’t provide the brightest home theater projector, but it does provide a model that is energy efficient. The company states that the Q-650i uses up to 70% less power than similar devices.

Mitsubishi Announces HC9000D Projector Coming to IFA 2011

Mitsubishi announced today that they will be demonstrating their latest home cinema products at this year’s IFA 2011. The convention is the world’s largest trade some for consumer electronics and home appliances. Among all the products the company will be displaying, Mitsubishi will debut of their latest home theater projector, the HC9000D. This device is capable of displaying 1100 ANSI lumens, full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and a 150000:1 contrast ratio. This projector is also one of Mitsubishi’s first 3D models that use the active shutter technique. The company is looking officially release the HD9000D at IFA, but they have not announced a retail price at this time.

Epson is announcing today three new projectors that will be released next month to their VS series, the VS210, VS310, and VS315W. These three projectors share the same chassis as well as 2600 ANSI lumens. The only notable difference at this time is their native resolutions. The VS210 has a SVGA (800 x 600) resolution while the VS310 has a XGA (1024 x 768) and the VS315W has a WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution. Each model shares the same connection panel, which comes with composite, s-video, RGB, and a USB port. Panasonic's PT-AE7000 is its first 3D home theater projector, arrives in September for $3,499

Panasonic is finally ready to show off its first 3D projector, the PT-AE7000. This LCD beamer is a followup to the PT-AE4000 that debuted back in '09 and while some of the new features are for 3D -- 480Hz transparent LCD panels, integrated IR transmitter to sync the glasses and adjustable settings to tweak the picture at different viewing distances -- it also claims an improved 2D pedigree with a 200 watt lamp, claimed 300,000:1 contrast ratio and 2,000 lumens of brightness. Microvision SHOWWX+ HDMI Projector Finally Hits Retail Shelves

Today it was unveiled that the newest projector from Microvision has been seen on retailer’s shelves. The latest model is the SHOWWX+ HDMI, which features 15 ANSI lumens, a 5000:1 contrast ratio, and WVGA (848 x 480) resolution. The specifications seem very similar to previous models, but this version includes a mini HDMI port in addition to a RGB and a component connection as well. The SHOWWX+ HDMI is available for $369.
