Great news for you developers and hackers out there. HTC recently announced the official release of the Kernel source code of its four top notch devices. These handsets include the recently announced HTC Rezound, HTC Amaze 4G, HTC Explorer, HTC Desire S and the HTC Desire.

The HTC Explorer, also known as the HTC Pico, is a tiny little Android phone poised to become one of the most affordable HTC smartphones to date. With a small 3.2-inch HVGA 320 x 480 pixel screen, a humble 600MHz processor, 384MB of RAM and a five megapixel rear camera the Explorer will fit somewhere around the HTC Wildfire S in the company’s lineup.
Of course, it targets budget-savvy users and if you ask us might launch for the sweet price of zero when purchased with a two year contract. On the software side, it runs Android Gingerbread spiced up with HTC’s latest Sense UI 3.5.
The HTC Explorer might arrive as soon as today at HTC’s NYC event, but we’d rather put our bets on the event bring...
