Sigma has released a firmware update for the Sigma SD1 and Sigma SD1 Merrill digital SLR cameras. The new version improves the accuracy of the auto focus system and the flash exposure control, and fixes bugs. You can download the update from the website below.

Sigma has announced updates of two compact digital compact cameras, both featuring a 46 million pixel APS-C size image sensor.
The new Sigma DP1 Merrill and Sigma DP2 Merrill feature a Foveon X3 direct image sensor that was originally developed by the late Dick Merrill. The cameras are named after him in his honour.

Sigma has announced the passing of Sigma Corporation’s founder and CEO Michihiro Yamaki. He died of liver cancer on 18th January at the age of 78. In 1961, Yamaki developed the first-ever rear attached lens converter and founded Sigma to commercialise the product. At that time, most photo enthusiasts believed that a lens converter could only be attached to the front of a camera lens and the 27-year-old optical engineer turned conventional optical theory on its head. In the next five decades, Yamaki grew the family-owned organisation into a leading researcher, developer, manufacturer and service provider of lenses, cameras and flashes. Sigma Deutschland has announced a limited edition Sigma SD1 that comes in a removable, hand-made wooden housing. “Over 60 hours of milling, sawing, grinding and polishing are needed to allow one of the finest and rarest woods of the world blend with the SD1,” the company says, calling the Sigma SD1 Wood Edition a “luxurious Christmas gift for photo enthusiasts”. Sigma has issued a firmware update for the Sigma SD1 digital SLR camera. Version 1.03 improves auto white balance accuracy, image quality at ISO 3200 and ISO 6400, the accuracy of evaluative exposure metering and flash output control, and fixes bugs. Sigma has issued a firmware update for the Sigma SD1 digital SLR camera. According to the company, version 1.02 does the following:
Corrects various bugs to achieve more stable operation.
Corrects the phenomenon of camera freeze when in Custom White Balance Mode.
Improves image quality at high sensitivity (ISO 3200, ISO 6400), only for raw image files.

Sigma has released firmware upgrades for the Sigma DP1x and DP2x large-sensor compact cameras. Both models gain the ability to record images in “raw!JPEG” mode, and both firmware updates add a new AF area mode that allows users to position the AF point more freely within the frame. Additionally, you can now change the size of the focus point. The DP1x update also adds a Capture Priority Mode and the ability to magnify into the frame while in AF mode.
