Get the Droid now or wait till November?

I have a dumb phone right now (LG Chocolate 3) and I have the option to upgrade early to any smartphone (A verizon promotion to users of dumb phones, wanting them to upgrade to data plans) but I only have until Feb 28th to decide. Otherwise I have to wait till Nov. of 2010 for my new every two to come back up. Should I get the Droid or Pre now or wait 10 months for something thats better? How much better do you see these things getting in 10 months or so?

technology changes so much and so fast it's hard to tell. i would get the droid because it's a great phone. but if you wait, you will be saying the same thing in 10 months, should i get this or will something better be out.
