Engadget‘s review Edit

For existing Storm owners who've been saying "if only this damn thing had WiFi" through clenched teeth for the past six months, the Storm2 makes an elegant, hassle-free replacement. For the rest of the world, though, we totally understand why Verizon has elected to bury the phone's launch beneath a pile of Google - it's an underwhelming experience for today's multimedia-centric, ADHD-afflicted buyer.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

We aren’t wholly enthused with the Storm 2 and are hoping for a sleeker, yet more tactile model to emerge that can truly rival the iPhone. Overall, the Storm2 is a solid business smartphone with some neat multimedia tricks and excellent communication credentials. Its touchscreen has been markedly improved, putting it on a par with most of the pack here, but the Bold is a better Smartphone and the HTC HD2 and Pre are more impressive overall.

It's a powerful device with an innovative click screen that really works - and it feels finished instead of like an engineering prototype. Having said that, the Storm 9550 is now a proper version of last year's groundbreaking smartphone.

The Storm2 excites me because it's genuinely a great product, it's proof that RIM can bridge the divide between "professional" and "multimedia," and perhaps most importantly, it's the company's first legitimate stab at the touchscreen market.
