Leaked S Voice app working again on non-Samsung phones

Leaked S Voice app working again on non-Samsung phones

Posted on May 29, 2012 by MG3

Days after Samsung confirmed to us that it was restricting use of its S Voice app on handsets other than the Galaxy S III, the service appears to be working again. At least on our Sharp Aquos Phone that we've been testing S Voice on from the beginning, normal service has been resumed and the app is performing as well as it ever did. After Samsung initially blocked the service, some enterprising modders managed to alter the APK to get it back up and running again, but we haven't done anything other than install the file that originally leaked.

Here you’ll be able to download the application and install it on any Android device capable of running it.

Samsung Galaxy S III tops UK pre-order records, shows that British love their quad-core

Samsung Galaxy S III tops UK pre-order records, shows that British love their quad-core

Posted on May 24, 2012 by MG3

The British clearly didn't waste any time once pre-orders opened up for the Galaxy S III, which just broke through pre-order records for at least one carrier and one retailer in the country. Carphone Warehouse's chief commercial officer Graham Stapleton says that the quad-core, 4.8-inch flagship is the quickest-moving pre-order of the year "so far," while Vodafone UK adds that the new Galaxy is its most pre-ordered Android device to date. Without hard numbers, though, it's difficult not to couch the successes in relative terms: both are using conditional language that makes clear neither record is absolute and that they might be eclipsed by companies with a knack for building early demand. The Samsung Galaxy S III Revealed: 4.8" HD SuperAMOLED, Exynos 4 Quad, Available 5/29 in Europe

Posted on May 04, 2012 by MG1

Apple is a bit infamous for its tight control over new products, particularly iPhones. Development mules are often updated internals stuffed into nondescript previous generation designs. And talk of new products is forbidden, until the official reveal. Samsung, seems to have taken a different tack with their latest flagship device, the Galaxy S III. In the weeks leading up to today's announcement there were positively dozens of leaked images and specifications lists. And each one seemed so pointedly different than the last to leave the tech press exhausted with confusion and anticipation. All those leaks are put to the test, now, though; as Samsung has just revealed their most advanced phone...

Samsung unpacks the Galaxy tomorrow, we'll be liveblogging the London event right here!

Posted on May 03, 2012 by MG1

Is that Galaxy S II feeling a bit stale? It's just about time for Samsung to name a successor to the massively popular smartphone, live at the company's Mobile Unpacked event at the Earls Court Olympic venue. We'll surely see a brand new mainstream handset make its debut, but what's not quite as clear is what other gadgets Samsung plans to show off in London. With defined divisions, the Korean device maker's "Mobile Unpacked" event title implies that Android phones will steal the show, so it's unlikely that we'll see an updated Tab or two. We have 24 hours and change to find out for sure, however, so bookmark this page to stay abreast of the news as it happens in our liveblog. The show kicks...
