Olympus has released firmware updates for the Olympus PEN Lite and PEN Mini, also known as the Olympus E-PL3 and E-PM1. Version 1.1 for both models improves reliability while using an Eye-Fi card. You can update the camera firmware from within the Digital Camera Updater software, while the camera connected to the computer.

Olympus America has also announced availability and pricing for the Olympus E-PL3. Also called the Olympus PEN Lite, the 12-megapixel E-PL3 is the latest Micro Four Thirds model, offering speedy auto-focus, a tiltable rear screen, flash hot-shoe, accessory port, in-body image stabilisation and a selection of Art Filters. The camera will be available from September in two different configurations; a zoom kit including the M.Zuiko Digital 14-42mm lens and a prime kit including the 17mm f/2.8 pancake lens (read review). The estimated street price for each kit is $699.99. The news comes after similar pricing announcements by Olympus UK and Olympus Europe.

Olympus has officially announced not one, not two, but three new interchangeable lens cameras; the PEN E-P3, PEN E-PL3 and the PEN E-PM1.
The launch includes a whopper of an update for its cutting edge mirrorless PEN range in the form of the E-P3. This camera boasts a revamped set of specs, particularly in the movie and AF department.
According to Olympus, the E-P3 is the fastest auto focusing interchangeable lens camera currently on the market. This is due to a clever 35 area multiple AF system, which uses image contrast detection to snap the focus as quick as possible.
