Walmart has the Samsung Conquer 4G on pre-order; price is set to free on-contract

Seriously! Who doesn’t love the fact when we see third party sellers offering pre-orders for an upcoming phone, but rather than sticking with the carrier’s original pricing, they simply blow them out of the water?
Well, if you happen to be eying the upcoming Samsung Conquer 4G for Sprint, you might want to check out what Walmart is offering right now. Specifically, they already have the 4G WiMAX enabled smartphone up for pre-order, but more importantly, early adopters choosing to side with the retailer are going to be knocked out by its sticker price.

Are Sprint's employees getting the lowdown on the Samsung Conquer 4G?

There's a long-anticipated Samsung handset with 4G which has Sprint employees hitting the training manuals. Nope, not that one. It's the Conquer 4G, a midrange Android phone that's finally receiving attention after weeks of obscurity. AndroidCentral uncovered an image of a PowerPoint training presentation that offers only a few new specs: we already knew about the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, Gingerbread, 3.5-inch display, and dual cameras with LED flash, but the slide seemingly confirms it'll also have Sprint Mobile Wallet, Swype, and Sprint ID included. Again, we don't have much to go off of here, but the slide -- if genuine -- is a solid clue that we may be seeing the shy guy again...

New Sprint roadmap says Samsung Conquer 4G pushed for August, and a mystery Motorola XT603 slated for October

A Sprint roadmap with date stamp from Friday is making the rounds, and it reveals quite a bit about the nation's third largest carrier handset release dates in the next month or two.
We have the Samsung Conquer 4G, which was supposed to appear by the end of July seemingly pushed for 8/21. This handset is supposed to take the place of the Sanyo Zio. This is a low-end Gingerbread handset with a 3.5" display, 1GHz chipset and 3MP camera on the back, which should be coming pretty cheap on contract.
Further down the list we spot a few smartphones of RIM's new crop. The BlackBerry Bold 9930 and Torch 9850 (aka BlackBerry Volt), are supposed to hit shelves 8/21 as well, whereas the run-of-the-mill ...

Samsung Conquer 4G redefines the entry level Android smartphone, drops TouchWiz

There’s nothing we love more than a vanilla build of Android, especially when it’s Android Gingerbread. Samsung has quietly announced ‘Conquer 4G’, its new entry level Android smartphone destined for a US release on Sprint’s 4G WiMax network.
When you hear entry level and Android used in the same sentence, the last thing you’d expect to hear is a 1 GHz processor. Surprisingly that’s exactly what’s inside the Conquer 4G, along with a 3.5-inch HVGA resolution touchscreen, 3.2-megapixel camera, 1.3-megapixel front facing camera and Tri-band CDMA support.
