It’s been a long wait for iPhone 4S owners and an even longer wait for iPad 2 owners who want to jailbreak their devices. Released right after Christmas, the latest jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 only works for A4 devices like the original iPad and the iPhone 4. Both the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4S are equipped with the A5 chip and can’t be jailbroken, yet.
pod2g has been working on the iOS 5 jailbreak for the past few months. He plowed through the 5.0.1 jailbreak and may have a breakthrough that’ll finally lead to a public, untethered jailbreak for the A5 devices within the next week.
