Tango ROM leaks, already cooked for the HTC HD2 and Samsung Omnia 7
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungHTCHD2Omnia 7
A Tango ROM has leaked on XDA-Developers. Tango Build 7.10.98.8773 has been made available for download by Football, ready to be cook into ROMs.
It also did not take long to do this either, with Tango ROMs for the HTC HD2 and Samsung Omnia 7 now available.
Besides the optimizations for low memory, Windows Phone Tango brings improvements in MMS messaging and bug fixes, including fixing the SMS of Death vulnerability.
Despite the improvements the official roll out of the Tango update to Windows Phones will be dependent on carriers.

Bootloader hack may bring Android dual-boot to Windows Phones
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungFocusOmnia 7
It remains to be seen how desired this is, but work by the Dark Forces Team to port the the MAGLDR bootloader to the Samsung Focus may mean Android dual-boot could be coming to certain Windows Phone 7 handsets.
This would result in a similar situation to the HTC HD2, which it seems has been hacked to run every mobile OS under the sun.
The work is being initially done on the Samsung Focus v1.3, but Cotulla writes that the next version will support the Samsung Focus 1.4 and Samsung Omnia 7 also.

The Samsung Omnia 7 gets another post-Mango firmware update
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungOmnia 7
It appears Samsung is still tweaking with the Samsung Omnia 7, despite the release of their new Windows Phone handsets.
John in the Czech Republic has received a firmware update for his open-market Samsung Omnia 7 to firmware version 2424.11.9.2 but notes that it still did not bring internet sharing.
On XDA other users are noting the Radio firmware was also updated to 242.11.9.1 and the Bootloader to 5.9.0.6.
While no changes have been obvious, at least users have the minor bonus of having an extra 200 MB free storage after the update.
Have any of our readers received the update, and have you noticed any changes? Let us know below.

Samsung Omnia 7 Firmware upgrade brings WIFI Internet sharing to Australia also
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungOmnia 7
It seems the Internet Sharing firmware update is rolling out to multiple other Windows Phone 7 handsets also.
After the LG Optimus 7 the latest is the Samsung Omnia 7 in Australia, where the handset has received a firmware update to Firmware revision number 2424.11.9.2 and Bootloader version 5.9.0.6 which has enabled WIFI Internet Sharing.
Users also report generally improved 3G performance and even better camera performance, but that may just be a placebo effect.
Read more in this Whirlpool thread here.
Not all users are however as lucky. WeLoveWP.hk reports the HTC HD7 has also received a post-Mango firmware update there, but that this failed to bring Internet Sharing or any other new fea...

Hack to enable internet sharing on the Samsung Omnia 7 now available
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungOmnia 7
Thanks to XDA-Developer member OndraSterthere is now a hack available to enable internet sharing on Samsung Omnia 7’s running Mango.
Interestingly the hack confirms Microsoft’s assertion about drivers, as the hack does not work on HTC handsets. The hack also reveals that there is vestigial support for Bluetooth tethering, but that this does not work.
The hack also disables the phone from checking for carrier provisioning for tethering, but this of course does not mean you will still not be charged.
The hack is a bit too complex to explain here, involving unlocking the handset, provisioning the device, replacing files and editing the registry, so really only for expert users.

Samsung Omnia 7 with Mango RTM floating around in the wild
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungOmnia 7
WPSauce have been sent this screen shot of the Samsung Omnia 7 supposedly running Windows Phone 7.5 7720, which is the Release to Manufacturer version of Mango.
The development is either evidence of the OS being hacked into the handset, or of the OS undergoing carrier testing.
I am sure the impatient few would prefer the former, while I am sure most of us just wish the official update would come sooner rather than later.

Samsung Omnia 7 running out of stock in UK
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungOmnia 7
We all know a new wave of Windows Phone 7 handsets are coming, and in fact we have seen the Samsung i937 shown off already. We do not however know how soon, and most of us I expect believe it will be September at the earliest.
In the mean time carriers will have to sell existing handsets, and we are now recieving reports that stocks of the Samsung Omnia 7, the most attractive Windows Phone 7 handset internationally, are running low. Samsung’s own website shows O2, Carphone warehouse, 3, Orange and Phones4U are already out of stock, and our tipster tells us, contrary to Samsung’s chart, T-Mobile UK is also saying they have run out of Omnia 7s and will not be ordering any more.
