There's plenty of new functionality coming to your TiVo Premiere thanks to the latest update to the software. For starters, you'll be able to search through Hulu Plus offerings along with your regular cable, Amazon Instant Video, Blockbuster and Netflix. If you can't find the show you're looking for, you can even set up a WishList to catch it when it does come on air. Multi-room streaming is also available, allowing you to watch shows from one of your TiVo boxes on another networked TiVo Premiere.

It's too early to know if this is the big TiVo update fans have been waiting for since the release of the Premiere, but there's no doubt it's a significant one. For starters, the guide has finally gotten the upgraded HD treatment -- no word if it is the only remaining old screen to get refreshed. Next up is official Premiere-to-Premiere streaming, which frees your recorded TV to be watched in any room of the house, even if the content is marked Copy Once. TiVo, AT&T patent settlement will send at least $215 million TiVo's way through 2018

After leveraging its DVR patent portfolio into a $500 million settlement with Dish Network and Echostar TiVo has made it rain again, cutting a mutual patent licensing deal with AT&T that settles their litigation and will result in at least $215 million heading its way through 2018. Additional license fees are possible based on AT&T's U-verse DVR subscriber base, so besides the $51 million up front and recurring payments after that, there could be even more money at stake.
