HTC Droid Incredible Pro Reviews

www.pcper.com‘s review Edit

From the initial launch of the Android Operating system on the HTC Desire (known as the T-mobile G1 in America), about 18 months ago, it is apparent that both HTC and Google have come far. Android has become a major player in the mobile phone space, with about 60,000 activations of Android devices per day as of February 2010 according to Google. In the runup to the release of this phone, Google has announced that it no longer plans to bring the Nexus One to Verizon, and that this is the phone that is taking it's place in their lineup. After using this phone, it is obvious why Google has made this decision. Building off of the strong foundation that Google and HTC created with the Nexus One, the HTC Droid Incredible is the best Android phone on the market, and one of the best smart phones I have used. That being said, if you are carrier agnostic, it would be beneficial to wait for the launch of the HTC Evo 4g phone on Sprint this summer. The Evo is poised to take the specs of the Incredible even further, with a 4.3" LCD and 720p video recording. Along with the 4g data network, it will certainly be a phone to watch. Look for our review coming up this summer.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

Placed on the same level at the upper end of the echelon on Verizon's lineup, both Android powered smartphones are priced at $199.99 on-contract – so it'll obviously come down to what features are placed highly on your list. The obvious first decision you'll have to make is whether the touch-only option of the Incredible is something you can endure. If you can't fathom to see yourself adjust to the touchscreen, then it's quite blatant that the Motorola DROID 2 is looking to be the correct solution for you.

mobiledia‘s review Edit

The Incredible is a welcome addition to the Droid family of devices. The name, although promising to be something extraordinary, is slightly short of that. With its unprecedented 8.0-megapixel camera and dual led flash, something not seen on a smart phone, as well as an internal 8GB flash memory, the phone is still incredible.

I'm very proud of companies like ASUS and HTC. These aren't your tradtional consumer electronics companies. They have their roots in the OEM business, working hard but for very little recognition. These Taiwanese companies have been desperately trying to bridge the gap to the mainstream consumer market over the past few years and honestly, they've done a great job thus far. Just earlier this year we saw HTC build Google's first branded smartphone: the Nexus One.

I have grown very attached to the HTC Droid Incredible in the relatively short time I've had it. It's one of the best smartphones I've ever reviewed, and a true joy to use, to the extent that in my idle moments I actually found myself contemplating whether our contacts at Verizon would miss the phone if I didn't send it back for a few more weeks.

The Droid Incredible is an excellent phone that demonstrates Android at its best, and reveals HTC's mastery at releasing high-quality phones litterally faster than we can test them. I can't wait for the Android 2.2 update. Because I found the battery to be better and the screen and the tactile buttons to be more responsive, I can warmly recommend the Incredible over the Nexus One.

Engadget‘s review Edit

The Droid Incredible is the best Android device that you can purchase in America right now. It's better than the Droid, better than the Nexus One, and certainly beats the pants off of any previous generation handsets like the Eris, myTouch, or Cliq. It's not just a very, very good Android phone (though it is); it's also an excellent smartphone no matter how you cut it.

HotHardware‘s review Edit

There's no denying we were impressed by the Motorola DROID, but the HTC Droid Incredible may give you a reason to be jealous, provided you don't have a strong preference towards having a hardware keyboard. As Verizon Wireless' third Android-powered phone, the Incredible is arguably one of the best Droid handsets on the market today.

The best of the Droids on Verizon, the Droid Incredible impresses with its speedy user interface, gorgeous AMOLED display and fun Sense user interface. Other than some minor design qualms, this smartphone truly lives up to its name.

Overall, this phone is quite speedy. We never had to wait for it to perform a task. The Android operating system is good and the HTC Sense overlay makes it even better. It is intuitive and the main functions are easy-to-use. The speech-to-text feature is very good and very useful. All these things combine to make it a phone that will appeal to geeks, but will also be useful to everyone.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

The clear winner here for most people is the Motorola DROID X, as it offers a larger, 4.3” display, excellent call quality, better looking camera images and video with HDMI out, and has overall faster performance with better battery life. Though the HTC Droid Incredible is better suited for those individuals looking for a more compact smartphone with a smaller screen and are fond of HTC Sense UI. If it were up to us, we’d like to see a Motorola DROID X running Sense UI, as that would be the best of both worlds (hardware and software), but since that isn’t going to happen, we’ll have to make do with the DROID X as-is and await the Android 2.2 update.

MobileBurn‘s review Edit

The HTC DROID Incredible offers a host of features inside a very capable smartphone, and nearly all of them work very well. Its 8 megapixel camera took some excellent shots, call quality on Verizon's network was very good, and web browsing was a pleasure. If there's one thing about the phone I'd fix, it's the battery life. The Android market still needs better apps, especially games, but that's not anything I'd blame on the DROID Incredible. For the reasons above, and more, I highly suggest you check out the HTC DROID Incredible and give it a "Highly Recommended" rating.

SlashGear‘s review Edit

Strong contender as the Motorola DROID is, the Droid Incredible by HTC edges ahead by virtue of its better performing camera and Sense UI. Our only real Incredible concerns begin with battery life and end with firmware updates; we hope HTC can tweak their power management to address the former, though the latter could be the sting in the smartphone’s tail.
