LG Optimus 2X finally gets the Gingerbread update; Optimus 3D and Optimus Black later in November

LG is pretty crappy when it comes to firmware updates with their Optimus 2X being one of the last devices to get the Gingerbread treatment. Those of you living in Europe with the “world’s first smartphone with a dual-core processor” can finally get Android 2.3 update from LG — in case you haven’t took the “unofficial” route and rooted your way to Gingerbread.
Unfortunately, this update is only for folks who bought the unlocked device with no carrier subsidies and it’s still unclear when every Optimus 2X owner will get it. We’ll keep our eyes wide open and let you know as soon as we hear something new on that front. »read more
