GIGABYTE Launches GeForce GTX 670 WindForce 3X Graphics Card

GIGABYTE Launches GeForce GTX 670 WindForce 3X Graphics Card

Posted on May 11, 2012 by MG1

GIGABYTE's first and only GeForce GTX 670 graphics card is the GV-N670OC-2GD, a non-reference design graphics card that implements the company's popular WindForce 3X cooling solution, coupled with its UltraDurable VGA+ PCB. While the PCB layout appears to be identical to that of NVIDIA reference design GeForce GTX 680, it is backed by GIGABYTE exclusives such as 2 oz copper PCB layers, electrical ripple control, tier 1 GDDR5 memory chips, ferrite core chokes, low RDS (on) MOSFETs, and Japanese solid-state capacitors.
Out of the box, the GV-N670OC-2GD features clock speeds of 980 MHz core, 1058 MHz GPU Boost, and 6.00 GHz effective GDDR5 memory. It loads 2 GB of memory across a 256-bit wide ...

GIGABYTE Intros Two Entry-Level Graphics Cards

GIGABYTE Intros Two Entry-Level Graphics Cards

Posted on Apr 02, 2012 by MG1

GIGABYTE introduced two new graphics card models over the last week, based on GPUs that have been in existence for a while now. The first is the GV-R645-1GI, a low-profile single-slot graphics card based on the AMD Radeon HD 6450, and the GV-N440-1GI, a cool and quiet full-height double-slot graphics card, based on NVIDIA GeForce GT 440.
The GV-R645-1GI is armed with 1 GB of DDR3 memory over a 64-bit wide memory interface. It features clock speeds of 625 MHz core, with 1100 MHz memory. It uses a tiny, radial-fin fan-heatsink to cool the GPU. Its display outputs include dual-link DVI, HDMI (gold-plated connector), and D-Sub, which is detachable. GIGABYTE tried to pull off a neat marketing tri...

GIGABYTE Out With its GeForce GTX 680

Posted on Mar 23, 2012 by MG1

GIGABYTE took its own sweet time launching its GeForce GTX 680, but no harm done. Carrying the product code GV-N680D5-2GD-B, GIGABYTE's graphics card sticks to NVIDIA reference board design, decorated with a slick-looking abstract art. The card also sticks to NVIDIA reference clock speeds of 1006 MHz (core), 1058 MHz (boost), and 1502 MHz / 6.00 GHz effective GDDR5 memory. It is armed with 2 GB of memory sitting across a 256-bit wide memory interface. Based on the 28 nm GK104 GPU, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 is powered by 1536 CUDA cores, and a revolutionary, energy-efficient architecture. GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 680 is priced at US $499.

GIGABYTE Gives Radeon HD 7800 Series WindForce Treatment

GIGABYTE Gives Radeon HD 7800 Series WindForce Treatment

Posted on Mar 06, 2012 by MG1

GIGABYTE is out with its custom-design Radeon HD 7800 series graphics cards on day one, the company prepared a Radeon HD 7870 model, and an HD 7850 one, augmented with its WindForce cooling solutions. The HD 7870 card, the GV-R787OC-2GD, makes use of a long Ultra Durable VGA+ PCB by GIGABYTE, outfitted with the company’s best air-cooling solution, the WindForce 3X, which has been used on a variety of high-end graphics cards by GIGABYTE. The card is also said to feature a 5-10% factory OC.
The HD 7850 card, the GV-R785OC-2GD, features a shorter PCB, and features a more compact twin-fan WindForce Anti-Turbulence cooler. This model features a 5% OC, too. The WindForce 3X uses a combination of ...

Gigabyte Intros Radeon HD 7950 WindForce 3 Graphics Card

Gigabyte Intros Radeon HD 7950 WindForce 3 Graphics Card

Posted on Feb 01, 2012 by MG15

Gigabyte flagged off its Radeon HD 7950 lineup with a custom-design graphics card. Carrying the model number GV-R795WF3-3GD, the card makes use of Gigabyte's custom-design WindForce 3 cooling solution strapped on to a more familiar-looking AMD reference design PCB that's colored blue. The WindForce 3 cooler consists of a complex aluminum fin array that draws heat from the GPU, memory, and VRM. Heat is supplied by several copper heat pipes, the heatsink is then ventilated by three 80 mm fans that are tilted in way that maximizes hot air to be pushed out of the rear panel and the top. Overclocked out of the box, the GV-R795WF3-3GD comes with clock speeds of 900 MHz core and 1250 MHz (5.00 GHz ...

Gigabyte releases 3GB WindForce 3X GTX 580 Card

Posted on Aug 23, 2011 by MG15

Gigabyte is outting one more WindForce3 model, well its actually the ver same SO model we previously tested here, yet not with the framebuffer doubled up.

The GV-N580UD-3GI is the latest one featuring ultra Durable VGA components (reduce GPU temperature, adds 10-30% more overclocking potential and reduces power switching loss).

The WindForce 3X cooler boasts a vapor chamber, three PWM fans and just as many heatpipes.he VRAM.

Basically, the outfit implemented no less than 3 GB which, coupled with the 384-bit interface and the 4,008 speed, leaves little, if anything, to be desired.

Speaking of frequencies, the 40nm GPU (graphics processing unit) operates at 772 MHz, while the shaders (512...
