Razer Naga Hex Gaming Mouse asks your single thumb to do sextuple duty

Razer Naga Hex Gaming Mouse asks your single thumb to do sextuple duty

Posted on Jan 11, 2012 by MG15

It's time to whip that lazy right thumb into shape, to end its freeloading ways and make sure it's fully maximized. The Razer Naga Hex is the way to go. Think of it as a somewhat simplified version of the Razer Naga MMO, dropping to six buttons and re-arranging them into a hexagonal pattern. It's designed for the burgeoning action-RPG gamer -- or for those who spent too much time playing Battletech with little painted figures. The $80 mouse is available for pre-order now and will ship later this month before popping up in stores in March.

ROCCAT invades US gaming market, brings peripherals to CES

Posted on Jan 10, 2012 by MG1

European peripheral maker ROCCAT was serious when they promised to put some German engineered fragging tools in the hands of US gamers, unveiling today a trio of accessories to tempt American gamers. These aren't your standard mouse and keyboard setup, however -- these siblings socialize. More specifically, the outfit's Isku gaming keyboard ($90) and 6000 DPI Kone gaming mouse ($80) use ROCCAT's exclusive "Talk" protocol to activate mouse macros from the keyboard. Ready to snipe? Just click easy-aim on the Isku Keyboard, and the Kone mouse automatically adjusts its DPI to a headshot friendly level. The outfit is also trotting out a 5.1 surround sound headset, dubbed Kave, which will land in ...

HP releases X4000 and X5000 mice that don't mind which hand you use

Posted on Dec 19, 2011 by MG1

Christmas at the House of Meg means there's two new wireless mice coming to fill the stockings of those who don't eat chocolate. Both units are clad in shimmering plastic and (not-so-shimmering) soft touch rubber, accommodating righties and lefties with equal ease. The 2.4GHz devices will give you 30-foot of roaming distance and a purported battery life of 30 months (on the X4000). The higher-end X5000 [pictured] has a touch scroll strip and four customizable buttons -- including a one-click Facebook button to match the social butterfly X7000. We've got a teaser video below that's either hyping these mice or the next James Bond movie (we're not sure) and you can snap 'em up from our source l...

Corsair ships Vengeance gaming mice and keyboards, procrastinating shoppers rejoice

Posted on Dec 16, 2011 by MG1

Remember that Vengeance line of gaming products that Corsair outed a few months back? We'll forgive you if not, and we'll also take this opportunity to refresh your memory while affirming that the company is shipping the bulk of 'em out just in time for the holidays. The Vengeance K60 and Vengeance K90 gaming keyboards and the Vengeance M60 and Vengeance M90 laser gaming mice and all clad in aluminum, with the K Series aimed at first-person shooter loyalists and the Ms aimed at those who just generally want to be awesome. You can catch up on the nitty-gritty just after the break, but here's the bad news: the K90, K60, M90 and M60 will go for $129, $109, $79 and $69 in order of mention.

SteelSeries lends Fnatic support to limited edition gaming mouse and headset

SteelSeries lends Fnatic support to limited edition gaming mouse and headset

Posted on Nov 28, 2011 by MG1

We know who SteelSeries is going to be supporting at this winter's DreamHack gaming competition in Sweden. The peripheral maker has just announced new versions of its Sensei mouse and 7H headset, decked out in the black-and-orange regalia of Team Fnatic. While there's little difference in the products from their vanilla versions, SteelSeries says that Fnatic collaborated in the development of the original equipment — albeit along with several other teams, which makes us wonder what Fnatic did to get the gig. Maybe the folk at SteelSeries are into orange this season.
In any case, it's easy to see what's in it for Fnatic. The $99.99 Sensei mouse features 8 buttons and highly customizable sensi...

Cooler Master Lets Xornet Mouse Out of the Cage

Cooler Master Lets Xornet Mouse Out of the Cage

Posted on Oct 14, 2011 by MG1

Cooler Master is under the assumption that not all gamers want a mouse with four hundred buttons and funky features like a built-in transmogrifier. If you find yourself shaking your head in agreement, you might be interested in Cooler Master's new Xornet mouse. Inspiration for the Xornet came from "gamers focused on minimalistic designs," and what CM ended up with is a lightweight rodent with a claw-grip design and affordable price tag.
Don't mistake minimalistic and inexpensive to mean this is a barebones mouse destined for the clearance bin. Noteworthy features include anti-slip rubber side grips; a textured stealth black finish; 2,000 DPI sensor you can adjust on-the-fly between 500, 1,00...

SteelSeries Sensei gaming mouse is now shipping

SteelSeries Sensei gaming mouse is now shipping

Posted on Sep 22, 2011 by MG1

SteelSeries has announced that its latest gaming peripheral is now shipping to buyers. The peripheral is the Sensei Pro Grade Laser Mouse and it is aimed directly at the avid PC gamer looking for all sorts of features and tweaks specifically to make gaming more fun and the player more accurate. This mouse has an inside sensitivity setting at the high-end thanks to a 32-bit ARM processor inside.
The sensitivity can be cranked all the way up to 11,400 DCPI. The default sensitivity is 5,700 CPI and the double CPI range will take things up to 11,400. I have no idea if a CPI is the same as a DPI as most mice are rated in. That ARM processor inside the mouse is as powerful as the original Pentium ...

Logitech announces Wireless Touchpad for Windows 7 PCs

Posted on Sep 15, 2011 by MG1

Taking a page from Apple, which last year released the Magic Trackpad, Logitech today announced its own version of the mouse companion (or replacement) designed to add multi-touch capabilities to Windows 7-based PCs. Dubbed Wireless Touchpad, the device offers 5 inches of real estate and supports up to four-finger gestures and swipes.
The Logitech Wireless Touchpad takes advantage of Windows 7's gesture-based controls and multi-touch so you can use two fingers to page scroll, three fingers for photo browsing, and four fingers for application switching. These uses will only expand in the future with Windows 8 expected to embrace touch in a big way and as more developers bake in native support...

Microsoft has announced the Touch Mouse Artist Edition. The designer mouse, white with an intricate, calligraphy-like etched motif, was created for Microsoft by typographical artist Deanne Cheuk. The mouse uses Microsoft's BlueTrack blue-laser technology which the company claims tracks more accurately over more surface conditions than a traditional laser mouse.

The mouse, intended primarily for Windows 7, is equipped with a self-storing nano transceiver that uses RF wireless to save on battery life. It will carry a price of $80. Microsoft has not announced when it will become available other than "soon."
