Samsung announces the Galaxy S II HD LTE in South Korea
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsung
South Korean handset vendor Samsung has finally unveiled the Galaxy S II variant we’ve all been waiting for: The Galaxy S II HD LTE. Just as the name implies, this smartphone is capable of using LTE networks, has a 4.65 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels which delivers an astonishing 316 pixels per inch, and other than that … it’s basically got the same guts as the 4.5 inch Galaxy S II LTE that was announced at IFA in late August. Inside there’s a dual core 1.5 GHz processor, what we assume to be 1 GB of RAM, and an 8 megapixel camera than can also capture 1080p video. Will this thing come to American shores? Probably. It’s likely that what you’re looking at be...

We saw the Samsung Galaxy S II for AT&T at the unveiling event recently, and while we had a little bit of time with it, we really couldn’t get a feel for the device since it was tethered and tied down. Now that we have our review unit in tow, we’ve been able to spend a little more time with the device and can give you more thorough initial impressions. Oh yeah, and a photo gallery.

More pictures of the LG LU6200 leak, is it the LG Revolution 2?
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesLGSpectrum
Last Saturday, we showed you pictures of a device that LG had put up a teaser page for, the LG LU6200 which is also rumored to be the LG Revolution 2. The first-gen LG Revolution was launched on May 26th and not enough time has elapsed to really start thinking about a sequel, even taking into consideration the shorter life cycles that most models have these days. Besides, the LG LU6200 is being aimed at the moment for the Korean market only, where pre-orders are starting on Sunday with a launch scheduled for early next-month. By the time the device reaches the States-if it ever does-more months will have gone by since the original LG Revolution was rolled out making the time between the orig...

Today we have one additional tidbit of information – the 5.3-inch screen equipped phone-tablet will be released in November and will cost about 500 GBP (roughly $770) + VAT.

Motorola LTE handset emerges with qHD Super AMOLED display, questionable identity
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesMotorola
Well, what do we have here? According to "trusted sources" over at This Is My Next it's a Motorola Spyder, or a Droid RAZR, or maybe even the Droid HD we peeped back in August. Whatever the name, the phone is apparently packing a first-of-its-kind 4.3-inch, 960 x 540 qHD super AMOLED display. The rumored LTE handset also supposedly contains a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel, 1080p rear-facing camera and HD front-facing camera, and is apparently outfitted in Gorilla Glass and Kevlar.

ZTE Skate starts shipping worldwide
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesZTESkate
The ZTE Skate has started shipping world-wide. The Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) smartphone, first unveiled at the World Mobile Congress in February, is said to be designed after the style of a skateboard. Although shipping with a Snapdragon processor, it is not one of the more recent processors, and will see the device slot into the mid-range of Android devices in both performance and price.
The Skate centers on a large 4.3-inch capacitive display with a resolution of 800x400. It ships in a matte plastic case, which is 11.35mm thin and which weighs in at 148-grams.
The ZTE Skate is part of a concerted push by ZTE in 2011, which will see the Chinese company launch 30 new smartphones by the end o...

Samsung Galaxy S II hits the 10 million sold mark with no help from the U.S.
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungGalaxy S II
It took the Samsung Galaxy S II one less month than the original model to reach 10 million in sales. And that total, compiled over 6 months, does not include any sales from the U.S. where the phone only recently was launched on Sprint as we reported. Considering the pent-up demand for the phone Stateside, and the great response that those who purchased the Samsung Galaxy S II, Sprint Epic 4G Touch have had to the device, the 10 million sold figure is going to rise sharply by the time Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T are all done selling the device in the States..

Huawei makes Honor official, forgets to mention its other virtues
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHuaweiHonor
Sure, we love it when phones and spec lists leak out into the wild, but there's nothing like an official announcement to set the record straight. When we last saw the Huawei Honor, it claimed to have a single-core 1.4GHz processor, a 4-inch FWVGA (854x480) capacitive screen, and a radio primed for European and Asian bands. The official word? It's got all of that, but it's also packing an 8 megapixel rear facing camera (2MP up front), 512MB of RAM (with 4G ROM memory, and expandable up to 32GB) and a hefty 1900mAh battery.
