Is this the iPhone 5? Nah, but it's the best fake we've seen so far
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesAppleiPhone 4s
Okay, hold your breaths, clean your glasses and watch carefully... this may not be the iPhone 5, but it's the best fake we've seen so far. It's more than just a picture – it's a whole video claiming to be recorded from Apple's Swiss website, where the iPhone 5 page has been supposedly put on the web and accessible via a hidden link. Ridiculous? Yes. But wait until you see the skill and time invested in this footage – it includes a whole gallery of pictures allegedly showing the next-gen iPhone, but also a separate page listing its full specifications including a dual-core A5 chip and an 8-megapixel camera capable of 1080p video recording at 30fps.

June had a special place in the hearts and calendars of Apple fans until this year when Cupertino broke some hearts by not announcing a new iPhone in accordance with its usual yearly routine. But Verizon and its chief financial officer were also disappointed:
"Obviously we're disappointed that the iPhone 5 didn't come out in June … we continue to prepare for it and when that comes we'll be ready," Fran Shammo shared his thoughts on a webcast this week.

Is this what the iPhone 5 will look like?
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesAppleiPhone 4s
The folks over at MacRumors have gone above and beyond when it comes to rumor-mongering, as the company has taken the supposed leaked iPhone 5 cases and created some 3D models. Is this what the next iPhone will look like?
The Apple iPhone 5 will reportedly be thinner than the current model, will have roughly a 4-inch screen and it should have boosted internals. We expect a dual-core processor, a bump in the RAM and perhaps an 8-megapixel camera.

We can't stop iPhone rumors any more than we can stop the seasons or the tides, especially when those rumors focus on the mythical low-cost iPhone which consumers have been calling for since the iPhone first launched. The newest rumor comes from Apple 'n' Apps Trevor Sheridan, who says he spoke with 3 sources "connected to Apple". Not the most to work with, but it'll have to do.

iPhone 5 Coming to China Telecom in October with Simplified iPhone 4?
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesAppleiPhone 4iPhone 4s
We can add more rumors to the iPhone 5 pile in terms of an October release as we’ve just learned that China Telecom might be landing the Apple smartphone that month. Apparently, China Telecom has entered into a “preliminary agreement” with Apple to sell the iPhone 5 before the end of October, along with a simplified version of the iPhone 4. Perhaps the latter will be an 8GB version selling alongside with the iPhone 5, much like the 3GS when the iPhone 4 was released.
Why release two versions of the Apple smartphone? AllThingsD reports:
Targeting the smartphone market’s upper and lower ends like this could prove a wise strategy. “We estimate the high-end portion of China Telecom’s subscriber ...

Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesAppleiPhone 4s
Apple plans to launch two new iPhone models this fall according to a new report: an iPhone 5 and a new “simplified iPhone 4.” In a note to investors on Wednesday, Ticonderoga Securities analyst Brian White cites a Chinese-language report from Sohu.com in stating that Apple and China Telecom have reached a preliminary agreement. The site reports that the leading Chinese carrier will launch two distinctly different iPhone models beginning as early as the end of October — an iPhone 5 and a retooled, less expensive iPhone 4. According to White, the new iPhone 4 model could be “a more economical version of iPhone to target a broader customer base in developing countries such as China, allowing fo...

Apple iPhone 5 won't launch until October, report claims
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesAppleiPhone 4s
Despite multiple reports suggesting Apple and AT&T are each blocking employee vacations and making preparations for increased foot traffic in September, a new rumor suggests the iPhone won’t actually launch until October. Journal blog AllThingsD cites multiple anonymous sources in claiming Apple’s next-generation iPhone will launch in October, possibly even late in the month. “I don’t know why AT&T’s calling for all hands on deck those weeks, but it’s not for an iPhone launch,” one of the blog’s sources said, responding to questions about why AT&T might have blacked out employee vacations in late September. Other sources the blog spoke with said the handset would launch late in the month. Ea...

AT&T prepping mid-September iPhone 5 launch?
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesAppleAT&TiPhone 4s
We all know that an iPhone 5 will be coming sooner or later but the latest rumor from BGR suggests that AT&T is preparing for a launch of the next-generation Apple phone in the middle of September.
There’s no specific source named other than it’s a “proven source,” but the timing does seem to make a bit of sense. In previous years, Apple would release an update to its iPhone in the middle of summer but it held off on that this year. The decision seems to have worked, as Apple was able to sell a record amount of iPhones last quarter even without a refresh.
The company generally has an iPod-focused event in September and it would be quite easy for it to transition this to its Fall iPhone event...

MacRumors reports that Apple is contacting former employees and asking them to come back as part time workers from August 15th through September 15th. While you should always take such info with at least a small pinch of salt, we're nevertheless excited to share some juicy details with you, regarding the upcoming new iPhone and Verizon. In short, the arrival of the iPhone 5, or whatever, on the nation's “most reliable network” might be closer than we expect.

iPhone 5 delayed due to faulty processors?
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesAppleiPhone 4s
Rumours of delays have dogged the upcoming iPhone 5 for months now, but the latest chatter from those apparently in the know suggests that the new iPhone may be held back until early 2012.
The reason behind the hold-up, sources say, is that the dual-core A5 processor that Apple is intending to use has been overheating.
Many have speculated that this will see Apple waiting until the A6 chip is available, which won't be until the beginning of next year.
Note the 'if'
If true, this could mean we will see a slightly updated iPhone 4S launch in autumn (another recurring rumour), with a more major upgrade made public after Christmas.
