i love this PS3 because it has blueray disc also and the quality of this PS3 is just absolutely brilliant!!! but it's just too darn heavy and i wish it had Wifi like the new ps3 slim.... also, games are very expensive (i know y but still...)

I've had my PS3 for over a year. I've never had a problem with it. I love the quality of the picture, especially on my new 50" Plasma. The PS3 is an awesome gaming system with some pretty cool games. The BD function of the PS3 is also incredible. That was one of the main resons that we bought it, was because the versatility of the systems is surpassed by none

PS3. I used to be a hater haha. I won't lie, I was. I bought an Xbox 360 first. Love it and I still play it to this day. Earlier of 2009, I gave in and decided to purchase a PS3. Now, for me personally, I'm an online gamer. Being an online gamer doesn't specifically mean I get to play online for free. This is where I find the PS3 to lack greatly.

People hear me out, what has really revolutionized everything we do today? The Internet. We use it for browsing, playing, downloading, watching, learning, listening, ect. We have the internet practically everywhere we go now in our computers, gaming systems, cell phones, GPS systems, ect. But, since we passed the breakthrough of the internet a long time ago, we are at a point where we base things on experience. With that said, the PS3 has poorly created an online experience, my opinion only (and I quite frankly don't care about anyone else's). I love that it is free, but the features (yes, I will refer to the Xbox 360 because it has it) like party chats, layout, and interface for communications, especially when playing a game, has advanced way beyond the PS3. It's been a few years now that the PS3 has been out. Let's not play dumb...they should have developed these great features at least within the first year of their release and realizing how people use the internet effectively through gaming. I dunno if it's because Xbox Live costs money and they are using their money the right way to bring a better experience, but I definitely would rather chat with my friends on the Xbox 360 rather than the PS3.

Another problem I'm starting to notice is the exclusivity the PS3 is losing. I'm starting to notice more things are getting ported to the Xbox 360 as well. That is starting to make me lose faith in Sony. I'm an RPG fan, and hearing that Final Fantasy is going on the PS3 also makes me start to think poorly of what the future holds for the PS3. I loved the competition and, even though spending money in this economy sucks, I liked being able to rotate though my systems. Now, I hope my review in the future can change, but from the looks of it, I really am not seeing anything outstanding from the PS3 that I can't find from an Xbox 360 other than, of course, Blu-Ray (but they aren't in my taste right now...I'm still a regular DVD guy, assuming many are also, since they are cheaper. Plus I rent movies and blu-ray hasn't really advanced yet. I'm sure it will in the future, but as of now, it hasn't).

I might be a bit biased towards the PS3, but I feel it must be because I became an early fan on the first Xbox with Xbox Live. Moving my experience from their to the 360 made me love it and expect more from it. My gaming experience now doesn't only result from the gameplay, but also the way it can be used through the online areas.

I had the xbox 360 and dont get me wrong, it is a very good system (when it is not crashing and you are not sending it into Microsoft). Now for those of you who have it and have not had issues, wonderful, but that was not me and MANY others. So I took the switch to the PS3. Best move I have done in a long time. It has all the games the xbox has that I played anyway (sports and COD, etc), plus it has many exclusives that are amazing games. Must play games that the xbox wishes they had. The only thing I miss from the xbox is the online chat ability. The PS3 is a little behind in that department. It will get there though. But it is also a Blu-Ray player which works great too. Best system for the money.

I love my ps3, plays games, blurays, it does almost everything. Yes the ads lie, it wont do my homework, jerk. But it does all of my multimedia, and better yet, free online multiplayer, suck it xbox live.

I really think this is the best system ever, Ive played X-box before and it wasn't as fun as the PS3. The graphics are awesome, and the games are BA so ya. I hope you get one!!!

i kept this system to myself for the longest. the kids had their handhelds and their wii, but with the Netfix option my family uses it as a movie hub. unlimited downloads it has been a blessing and budget friendly in these economic times. and with the blueray/dvd player, how can you argue with the value.

My playstation 3 stopped working after having it for 4 months because of a faulty disk reader. I never sent it back until recently and it's out of warrenty, so i have to pay 150 dollars to get it fixed and/or replaced. Not my favorite game console anymore.

I like the PlayStation 3, but to be honest I liked the Microsoft Xbox 360 better.

Had my PS3 for 2 years now, and love it very much. We love to watch HD movies, so having a Blu-Ray player adds to the whole experience of owning a PS3. Free online membership Good array of games for the console.

My friends kept buying the 360 and always kept getting the red ring of death, so i decided to not take any chances and get the PS3, Haven't had any problems with it my biggest like about it is that playing online doesn't cost anything a year.

I've had my PS3 for almost a year now and I haven't had any problems with it. I love how it plays Blu-Ray movies and can also play DVDs. The free online play also is a great feature unlike the Xbox 360 that you have to pay for. The controllers seem small to most but after using and getting used to them, you won't notice it. A great buy for anyone!

This machine is overlooked, and its the best one on the market right now. Sure the Wii has motion but the PS3 will soon have complete motion as well with better graphics and specs that demolish the Nitendo Wii. This system surpasses the others with more specs and a better value.

The ps3 is a huge upgrade to the ps3. It not only plays game faster and clearer, but has music, video, internet, wifi, a store, and much more!

Don't take this review in the wrong way I'm extremely happy with my PS3 it is by far the best gaming council that i have owned. I however am not at all very pleased that it cannot play any old games and I don't own the slim, with which I can understand why it doesn't play old games not enough room for the hardware.
So what's the problem Sony why no backwards comp hardware in the larger PS3?

The PS3 is by far the best gaming system I have ever owned! It allows for the user to do everything and anything they could ever want/hope to accomplish with a gaming system. It really has the ability to be a home's entire media center! Get one! Not to mention, it doesn't crap out, and make horrible noises when running, like the Xbox 360 does!
