NOKIA E72 Pro Reviews

Digital Trends‘s review Edit

Nokia’s E72 teases with a design that would make most BlackBerry owners drool and dated software that made us cringe.

ITreviews‘s review Edit

The E72 is a superb little handset that offers a decent mix of business and consumer features. Apple fans will baulk at the miniature keyboard and the lack of a touch-sensitive display, but the E72 is far smaller than the iPhone and boasts far better battery life. If you're already an E71 owner, however, the relatively small number of improvements mean you might be best off waiting for the E72's successor, though exactly when that will arrive is anyone's guess.

Nokia's latest unlocked messaging phone is a very elegant way to get your e-mail, surf the Web, and navigate without having to sign up for a BlackBerry plan.

PC Pro‘s review Edit

The E72 is an improvement over the E71 and worth the little extra it will inevitably cost businesses to roll out. But – and it’s an awfully big but – the E72 faces extremely stiff competition from RIM’s BlackBerry Bold 8700. A larger screen and superior keyboard, together with the ever-popular BlackBerry email services, make it an obvious alternative – albeit for a higher price.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The Nokia E72 delivers a measured upgrade to the E71, enhancing its capabilities and boosting performance all-round without radically altering the essential QWERTY-keyboard template. It provides a powerful messaging package with a very usable keyboard, complemented with an assortment of solid smartphone functionality and business apps. It may not have the glamour of an iPhone, but it has plenty of appeal for the enterprise user looking for a reliable messaging device.

Well, what else can we say that wasn't already conveyed in the review? Simply said, Nokia got it right again. What they did with the E71 was all kept intact on the E72. Ok, so the optical track pad isn't exactly our best friend, and a smaller space bar does slightly hinder our typing speeds. But don't take it the wrong way; we still prefer the E72's QWERTY keyboard for its improved tactile feedback and great layout over other devices and its constricted keyboards.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

The Nokia E72 is a capable smartphone with a focus on communication. The hardware has the quality feel to it that we expect from Nokia, providing a range of services that whilst all proficient, don't really excite. We did like the new free navigation that Ovi Maps provides, but the rest of the platform feels as though it needs to take a step forward.

As you’ve probably guessed we’re quite fond of the E72. It’s got a great range of features, a brilliant keyboard and impressive messaging support. So why does it miss out a perfect score this time around? There are two main reasons. Firstly, it’s not a significant upgrade from the E71. The camera and processor may have been boosted, and a new optical joystick added, but in terms of core functionality it adds little to its predecessor.

In some respects, the E72 is like a Ferrari with a lawnmower engine. It has a gorgeous shell, but its operating system falls flat. There are stand-out features, like its Web browser, decent camera, and long battery life, and those are all good reasons for Symbian fans considering the E72 as their next device.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

The Nokia E72 is the successor to one of the most popular and best selling business-oriented handsets of the manufacturer, the famous E71. It´s better than its predecessor in almost every single respect – camera, processor, memory, controls etc. Ultimately, is it worth the upgrade though? Well, read on and you´ll find out...

GSMArena‘s review Edit

Nokia E72 is one of those handsets everybody is talking about long before their release. There may be nothing much to talk about - after all everyone knows what to expect of the Eseries and they have never let us down. But still, savoring the next batch of Eseries steel is always a pleasure.
