expertreviews‘s review Edit

Even if we disregard this problem, the poor performance, low quality shots and high noise mean that we can't recommend this camera.

Probably the perfect holiday companion; rugged, resilient, fun and feature packed, the µ TOUGH-6000 will produce exceptional picture quality in the most demanding of natural conditions and still look cool.

This is not the most expensive waterproof and shockproof camera, but it performs admirable for the average outdoor enthusiast at a very reasonable price. Picture quality is good. The screen is fantastic in bright sunlight. And the waterproof and shockproof qualities live up to their hype.

With a price to match your average 10-megapixel compact camera, the Olympus Mju Tough-6000 offers a good rugged approach without trying to sting you for it.

Steve's Digicams‘s review Edit

The Olympus Stylus Tough 6000 is great for the active or adventurous person as well as a great toy to keep around a pool. With the durability of the camera, there are no worries of children handling it. Performance and quality are ok, but the camera makes up for these with its unmatched versatility.

DigitalCameraReview‘s review Edit

If you don't have delusions about the Stylus Tough-6000 becoming your one and only camera for family snapshots, you might just come away very satisfied with your choice. Used in its "native environment," for capturing photo-album shots in situations where it might get dropped or dunked, the Tough-6000 is an excellent performer, and its compact size and solid battery life are key advantages.

The Imaging Resource‘s review Edit

The Olympus Stylus Tough 6000 competes well in many areas against other rugged/waterproof camera models. We think our sample had a tilted sensor chip, as its images were very soft in one corner, the softness extending far into the frame. Were it not for that particular defect, its image quality was competitive in the category.
