AMD Athlon X2 7750 Pro Reviews

extremeoverclocking‘s review Edit

The AMD Athlon X2 7750 Black Edition processor is a welcome addition to product lineup of K10 chips. While not as glorious as AMD's high end Quad or Tri core Phenom processors, the dual core products still fill an important niche. Targeting the mainstream & budget consumer, I think the pricing is quite reasonable for the processing power that it delivers. Being a Black Edition processor also means the multiplier is unlocked, making it a cinch to overclock (especially with the AMD Overdrive utility).

If you're upgrading an AM2-based PC with a sub-2.0GHz processor, either chip will provide a marked performance increase. If you're building a new PC, there's little to choose between these two and Intel's Pentium Dual-Core E5200. Given current concerns over energy usage and pricing, though, we'd probably opt for an Intel-based PC.

HEXUS‘s review Edit

Put simply, pure processor performance from the AMD Athlon X2 7750 Black Edition falls a touch little short of the price-comparable competition, but such is the aggressive pricing on feature-packed AMD 780G motherboards, that the overall value proposition remains solid - you'll always need a motherboard, after all.

xbitlabs‘s review Edit

However, so far it is enough for dual-core AMD processors to retain certain parity in terms of performance with the competitors from Intel – Pentium DC. And although Intel has recently moved them to new 45nm cores, Athlon X2 7750 CPU remains a worthy rival not only to Pentium DC E5200, but also to the newer Pentium DC E5300.

tweaktown‘s review Edit

As far as pricing goes, AMD expect the Athlon X2 7750 BE to retail for about $79 USD, but that hasn't been confirmed yet. If so, it's going to make this a rather attractive option for users on a budget where massive performance isn't of all importance.
