ASUS M51AC Pro Reviews

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The Asus M51AC-US015S desktop offers multimedia performance and even some gaming prowess a price the competition can't quite match, but the performance lags behind similarly equipped competition.

computershopper‘s review Edit

Overall, the Asus M51AC wins our benchmark tests against three value-priced competitors, but that's like declaring someone the tallest Ewok at a Wookie competition. Our main wish is that Asus would switch to dual-channel memory. Until writing this review, we didn't fully appreciate how uncommon dual-channel implementation was becoming at the low end of the market. We understand that vendors need to hit given price points, and that 50 cents of bill-of-materials cost is a very big deal. So we can be flippant and say, “It's only five bucks! Just do it!” while the managers back in Taiwan roll their eyes and declare it financially impossible. That's the real world. If you want a $500 to $700 tower, this is the sort of corner-cutting you'll face.

Digital Trends‘s review Edit

Asus’ new M51 servers up a buffet of connectivity and upgradability, along with well-rounded performance, for just $700. But can this versatile desktop do it all?
