Pantech Discover Pro Reviews

Digital Trends‘s review Edit

In many ways, the Pantech Discover is more impressive than some phones we can name at twice the price. It can’t compete directly with the big flagship devices, but within the realm of budget phones it’s well worth the asking price. For just $50 on contract at AT&T, you get a large screen, good performance, long battery life, comfortable design, and a decent camera. The cool speakers are just icing.

Phone Scoop‘s review Edit

The Discover is without doubt Pantech's best and most well-rounded effort yet. It scores well across the board. About the biggest misstep the device makes is the cluttery look of the home screen and undeletable AT&T bloatware. These are minor quibbles at best. The hardware looks good and functions well; the radio, phone, screen and battery all exceeded my expectations; and the Android 4.0 platform serves as a solid base for the good camera and excellent media options. The loud-as-hell speakers are a bonus, in my book. When you consider that the Discover costs only $50 with a contract, you have a no-brainer on your hands. The Pantech Discover is an excellent smartphone for the money that easily outperforms devices that cost more than twice as much.

GSMArena‘s review Edit

The Pantech Discover is stylish and affordable without compromising on functionality. If the handset had launched six months ago, it would have been one of best value offerings in the Android smartphone game. Unfortunately, it missed its chance and now it's merely a decent proposition in its price range. The clean, curvy lines of the device, combined with the small premium touches even add an aura of desirability to it - a first for a Pantech smartphone in the United States. The 720p 4.8-inch screen, the 12.6MP camera and stereo speakers set it apart from rivals, too. Stellar performance and a host of software tricks add further appeal to the device. We are particularly impressed with the Easy Mode UI - it makes the device more accessible for first-time smartphone buyers. We aren't particularly excited to get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box seven months after Jelly Bean has been released, but we are hoping the manufacturer will keep its promise to release an update. Camera speed could have been better too - we've seen devices with lesser hardware being a lot more responsive.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

If you're looking at high value for a good deal, you'd be silly to pass up the Discover. Although it's missing a few superpremium features, like Android 4.1, a quad-core processor, and a full-HD screen, there are very few flaws in the phone's performance, specs, and design. In fact, with its oversize speakers and ergonomic fit, the Discover does better than most. The Discover is a phone I would recommend to most AT&T customers; in fact, it's so solid, I'd buy it myself.
