Lenovo ThinkCentre M92p Tiny Pro Reviews

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Mini PCs represent a niche in any market, but the argument for them in the workspace isn't at all straightforward. Here we'd be more likely to back the concept of an all-in-one PC over a system like this, just because it's a neater overall solution. If you have specific screen needs, then we could see an argument for something like this, but if you have a big screen, you probably want better performance than this system can muster. The real problem is that laptops are available for the same cash as this, and offer much more in the way of flexibility for any office situation. If you really want a workhorse of a machine, you either need a proper desktop computer, or a better laptop. This barely gets a look in.

The diminutive Lenovo ThinkCentre M92p Tiny works equally well in offices of a startup or a massive company, and its IT credentials are impeccable.

The M92p's software bundle is minimal but largely bloatware-free. The system features Windows 7 Professional, the limited and ad-supported Microsoft Office Starter 2010, and a 30-day trial of Norton Internet Security. You also get two Corel applications, DVD MovieFactory and Burn Now, for the DVD drive. We saw no trial offers or apps of questionable value littering the desktop, though two applications you might actually use come preloaded—Evernote and Skype—as does Lenovo's SimpleTap program launcher. Proving that the Tiny is a true business-class PC and not a consumer model masquerading as an enterprise system, Lenovo goes beyond the standard one-year warranty found on nearly all consumer (and an increasing number of business) PCs. The company backs the ThinkCentre M92p Tiny with a three-year standard warranty that includes onsite service. That's not something we see often anymore in a desktop PC. With its incredibly compact size, respectable office-productivity performance, and ample security and remote-management features, the Lenovo ThinkCentre M92p checks many of the boxes on an enterprise's wish list. (That said, if your office requires more oomph than what this model provides, consider spending more on the nearly as small HP Compaq 8200 or newer 8300 Elite Ultra-slim.)
