Cooler Master Storm QuickFire Pro Pro Reviews

hardwarecanucks‘s review Edit

After reading this review, some may be convinced that Cooler Master’s QuickFire Pro is a poor choice for gamers but that is only partially true. The Pro comes in many different versions from a gamer-grade version with Cherry Red switches to the one we reviewed today with more pedestrian Brown switches. Unfortunately, there is very little to no visual differentiation between the models. This will not only cause a fair amount of confusion (pay special attention to the product number before buying!) but there are QuickFire Pro models that just aren’t geared towards gaming. Hence our somewhat lackluster experience with the Cherry Brown-equipped unit we received.

techPowerUp!‘s review Edit

The Quick Fire Pro is definitely a good gaming keyboard which offers many of the features seen on $120+ keyboards at only $100. The backlighting is only partial, but it works like it is supposed to, for normal gaming sessions. Like the other keyboards from CM Storm it is built like a tank, and with a smarter positioning of the detachable cable it is definitely one of the most durable in the CM Storm lineup.

tweaktown‘s review Edit

Using the QuickFire Pro mechanical gaming keyboard for a couple of weeks and writing a few reviews with it, I do find myself not hitting multiple keys as much on the CM Storm as I did then, but that also may be attributed to a month or so of me getting used to mechanical keyboards in general. I found the Cherry MX Brown switches do have a better "feel" to them than the red's I started using in my reviews. There is a feel-able "bump" in the key travel midway down. This I think has some bearing on the fact that I am not hitting multiple keys at once. As it takes a bit more force to activate the browns than the reds took and that bump is almost a safety net of sorts, as it takes just a bit more pressure to get the key through the "bump" in its travel to activation.
