Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX80 Pro Reviews

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

We think the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX80 will suit someone who wants to play around with the pictures they're taking, maybe a fan of social networking or picture upload sites. The filters will give enough variety for most situations and they work well. However, they take a while to process which is annoying. The charger being built-in will interest young travellers because it means less to carry. The easy upload markers will make getting the pictures online easier from an internet cafe, wherever you are in the world, and the SDXC compatibility will ensure larger capacities. If you're off on your travels and looking for a small sharp shooter with fast reflexes, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX80 is definitely a good option to look at.

Packed full of features and with a capable zoom lens, the FX80 appears as an excellent lifestyle compact on paper. It's a shame, then, that it's let down by an unrepsponsive touchscreen and lacklustre image quality.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

As a simple to use camera with a wide angle lens, Full HD video and a large touchscreen, the Panasonic Lumix FX80 ticks many boxes. However, less than perfect image quality makes the camera suitable for those who value features over image quality and don't want manual control over images. At times it feels like the camera would be better if it had physical controls instead of a touchscreen. However, for undemanding users who don't want manual control, aren't concerned with ultimate image quality and enjoy using a touchscreen, the Panasonic Lumix FX80 could fit the bill.

ephotozine‘s review Edit

The Panasonic Lumix FX80 is a stylish ultra compact camera with a wide range of features including full HD video with stereo sound, a bright f/2.5 5x optical zoom lens, a 12 megapixel sensor with high speed shooting and a good 3 inch touch screen. The camera is easy to use with a clear menu system and quick access to popular settings. If you are looking for an ultra compact camera, then the FX80 is quick, however image quality is a little disappointing and there are a number of alternatives available for a similar or lower price.
