LG Optimus 4X HD benchmarks impressive, on par with the HTC One X

LG Optimus 4X HD benchmarks impressive, on par with the HTC One X

Posted on Apr 11, 2012 by MG1

The LG Optimus 4X HD is no joke when it comes to specs - it’s the successor of the first dual-core phone ever, last year’s Optimus 2X, and it packs all four plus one cores of the latest Nvidia Tegra 3. And it’s got the benchmarks to prove it.
The 4X HD scored an impressive 4512 in Quadrant, and while that’s slightly short of the 4,909 scored by the HTC One X which also sports the Tegra 3 in its international version, the LG phone managed to beat the One X in AnTuTu. LG Optimus 4X HD announced with quad-core Tegra 3, Android 4.0

Whether you're ready for a deluge of quad-core Android handsets or not, LG is getting things started with the Optimus 4X HD. Inside, its Nvidia Tegra 3 processor is clocked at 1.5GHz, sits behind a 4.7-inch 1280 x 720 IPS display, and within an 8.9mm-thin body. If you weren't aware, Tegra three actually offers a "companion core" with its "4-plus-1" setup that can be used in low power situations to help the phone sip on the 2150mAh battery instead of gulp at it, extending battery life. DLNA and MHL are also on board along with the obvious 8-mega...

While it’s hard to say that CES 2012 was a dud in the mobile space, we’re patiently awaiting to see what Mobile World Congress will be offering us next month. We’re pretty sure that the Samsung Galaxy S III will be announced already and it looks like LG is packing some heat with the upcoming X3. Yes, this is all rumor for the time being but the render above is enough to get our attention.
This beastly device is said to sport a quad-core processor, presumably NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 SoC. We won’t be terribly alarmed if we see a handful of devices shipping with quad-core processors but given that LG launched the Optimus 2X with the Tegra 2 before anyone else (and got into the Guinness Book of World R...
