Epson EH-TW9000W Pro Reviews

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Well, we're a games-loving bunch, and that means the TW9000W's one major flaw is a killer: it suffers significant input lag. Otherwise, you'd be looking at a score of five for performance and at least 4.5 overall.

AVForums‘s review Edit

The EH-TW9000 is an attractively designed and well-built projector that offers a very high standard of image quality considering its price point. The provided remote is well designed and built and also very intuitive to use and the same is true of the menu system. On top of that, the EH-TW9000 offers an excellent suite of calibration controls. There is a comprehensive set of connections at the rear, including two HDMI, as well as component video, RS232 and a 12v trigger. The EH-TW9000W includes a WirelessHD HDMI adapter which not only adds a third HDMI input but eliminates the need for long cable runs if ceiling mounted. The EH-TW9000 comes with two pairs of Epson's active shutter glasses and whilst these are very good, you can also use Panasonic's glasses if you so wished. Installation is easy thanks to manual shift, zoom and focus controls for the lens and the EH-TW9000 will fill a pretty large screen.

It may have taken Epson longer to deliver a 3D projector than expected, but based on the TW9000W, the wait has been more than worthwhile. It isn’t without its flaws and needs a little calibration work to get the very best out of it, but overall it’s a stellar effort with both 3D and 2D.

Epson claims that the 400Hz goodies inside the EH-TW9000W means a 3D image that's up to 70% brighter picture than on other 3D projectors. Judging from the clean image and natural colours in our demo, there's certainly a big improvement - though it's that Wireless HD transmission option that we love most.
