Google's Android Developer Hub released updated figures for the platform's distribution this week, and while Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is still gaining share, it is doing so at a rather slow pace. Last month, the latest version of Android was on 4.9 percent of active devices, but now it has climbed up to a 7.1 percent share.
New devices that come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, such as HTC's One series, have certainly helped get the updated software into more hands. That trend will continue as Samsung's new Galaxy S III hits more markets and becomes more widely available.
