Sony BDP-S360 Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

A decent Blu-ray player, but the BDP-S360 lacks the video and music format support that other players have.

All the crucial technical requirements are ticked off, too: HD audio decoding, BD-Live support and an Ethernet connection – though once again you'll find no multichannel analogue outputs. Thankfully, we're quite happy with the way audio sounds when sent over HDMI.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

Sony's most affordable Blu-ray player, the energy-efficient BDP-S360 delivers stellar picture quality with both high- and standard-definition discs.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

If you’re looking for your first Blu-ray player then the BDP-S360 is a definite candidate for your cash. The feature list is unduly sparse, but its user-friendly operating system, BD Live support and solid picture quality just about make it money well spent. That said, in our eyes the Samsung BD-P1600 is still a better bet, boasting wider digital media support, faster disc loading, a USB port and the option of adding Wi-Fi.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

For a bit more cash you can get the Samsung BD-P3600, a player with Wi-Fi connection, built-in memory, multichannel outputs and extensive USB media playback capabilities. But if you're not concerned with any of these features, or if you're a staunch Sony loyalist, then you'll probably be quite happy with what the BDP-S360 has to offer.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Sony BDP-S360 is a reasonably priced Blu-ray player that does the basics well. However, the Sony BDP-S560 is also reasonably priced - and it comes with two USB ports and inbuilt Wi-Fi.

Home Theater‘s review Edit

Sony has definitely improved upon its previous players and delivered a solid Blu-ray player with the BDP-S360. I have no complaints about the BDP-S360’s Blu-ray playback performance, but the design leaves a bit to be desired in terms of extra features and connectivity.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The BDP-S360 is a fine budget Blu-ray player for the money, particularly if you're looking for your first high-definition deck. Compared to rival players from the likes of Philips, Samsung and Panasonic, the spec is basic - there's no Wi-Fi support, built-in memory, multichannel analogue outputs or USB digital media playback - but that's reflected in the bargain basement price tag. Blu-ray newbies will probably be more interested in the impressive hi-def picture quality and user-friendly operating system, two key reasons why we've warmed to this deck despite its limitations.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The Sony BDP-S360 handles all the Blu-ray basics with ease, but it lacks the streaming Internet content found on competing models.
