Orbitsound T12v3 Pro Reviews

Subtle it ain’t, but it solves two problems affordably and effectively

As a whole, the Orbitsound T12v3 cannot replicate a surround array of separate speakers and high powered AV receiver, but you shouldn’t expect it to. Such a set-up would involve a higher cost and require speakers all around the room. And even then, the ‘sweet spot’ can be more restricted than with the Orbitsound, which serves as a desirable upgrade for your TV and also delivers a very respectable two-channel audio output.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Orbitsound Soundbar T12v3 is a versatile speaker system for playing sound from flat-panel televisions and iPods, possessing the kind of sound quality to get you nodding to the music. It’s not hi-fi as we know it, but it makes a great sound that will amply upgrade a TV’s own speakers, as well as engage you and your feet with music from your iPod.

The 'spatial' stereo pumped out by the third incarnation of Orbitsound's T12 soundbar is ideally suited to desktops in a bedroom or small room, where its great sense of depth and width will be fully appreciated. This ultra-convenient, serious audio solution can underwhelm in a big room, but the subwoofer and handy iPod/iPhone dock do make this worth considering if you're after something to upgrade a flat TV's weedy speakers.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

The Orbitsound T12v3 is very easy to set up, which is part of its charm. This is a great choice if you're looking for a simple way to beef up the sound on your TV but don't have the room (or money) to invest in a full home cinema system. Orbitsound's excellent spatial surround technology offers another compelling reason for investing in the T12v3.

SlashGear‘s review Edit

Outfitting your lounge or home entertainment room for audio always comes with compromises. 5.1 or 7.1 speaker systems invariably offer a more involving sound, though demand you live with multiple often expensive boxes and all the cabling required to hook them up. Soundbars are easier to install and less intrusive, but generally produce 2.1 sound rather than true surround and can often do a poor job even at that.
