After appearing in the Telus winter catalog earlier this month, the BlackBerry Curve 9380 is now shipping from the Canadian carrier. The 3.2-inch all-touch smartphone is priced at $49.99 with a three-year contract or $369.99 without one, and the Telus and BlackBerry sites confirm its 480 x 360 screen, 806MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, and 5-megapixel camera. Sadly, the Telus version of the 9380 only comes with 512MB of internal storage, not 1GB as previously announced, although it does include a 2GB microSD card.

BlackBerry Curve 9380 hits the FCC, talking the T-Mobile talk

BlackBerry Curve 9380 hits the FCC, talking the T-Mobile talk

Posted on Nov 25, 2011 by MG1

RIM's first all-screen Curve has sashayed over to the FCC. Two models of the BlackBerry Curve 9380, the REA70UW and REB70UW, are included in the latest filing, which goes into typical laborious detail on radio frequencies and the like. Thankfully, those myriad charts and graphs reveal support for WCDMA band IV, meaning that the phone plays nice with T-Mobile's 3G network. Let's just hope that, if given the chance to strut its stuff in the US market, it follows the Curve family tradition of arriving keenly priced. We'll have to wait and see if it hits our wallet's sweet spot, but for those more interested in the phone's internals, the source link beckons below.

RIM Unveils The BlackBerry Bold 9790 And Curve 9380

RIM Unveils The BlackBerry Bold 9790 And Curve 9380

Posted on Nov 15, 2011 by MG1

We may have gotten a glimpse at what RIM has planned for the future, but for now RIM devotees will have to make do with a new pair of current-gen BlackBerrys. The new Bold 9790 and the Curve 9380 both run RIM’s BlackBerry 7 OS, but that’s about where the similarities stop.
As the model number suggests, the 9790 is an extension of RIM’s pint-sized 9700 series. The Bold 9790 sticks with the tried-and-true BlackBerry design, albeit with some revamped buttons that caused a bit of a stir when they were first spotted. Unlike the other BB7-powered Bold, the 9790 sports a smaller 2.44-inch 360×480 display, a 1GHz processor, and 8GB of internal storage.
Meanwhile, the Curve 9380 takes its cues from t...

BlackBerry Curve 9380 due on TELUS by holidays

Posted on Nov 04, 2011 by MG1

The BlackBerry Curve 9380 has shown up in the wild again, this time promised on Canadian CDMA carrier TELUS with a release in time for the holidays. RIM teased the smartphone itself last month, revealing a 3.2-inch 480 x 360 display – on what TELUS describes as the “first all touch Curve” RIM has made in the brochure MobileSyrup spotted – while previous leaks have indicated the device will have an 800MHz processor.
There’s also been talk of a 5-megapixel camera capable of 720p HD video recording. OS is BlackBerry 7, complete with the usual array of BBM support and push-email. The user-experience is likely to be much akin to the Torch 9850/9860 we reviewed earlier this year, though probably s...

RIM: Smaller 3.2" BlackBerry Curve Touch 9380 Imminent

Posted on Oct 18, 2011 by MG1

A smaller, touchscreen-only and therefore hopefully cheaper BlackBerry Curve Touch is on the way, with RIM telling its app developers to prepare for a modest 3.2" touch-only BlackBerry. It most definitely won't look like the Torch then (pictured).
According to BlackBerry's own developer site, the Curve Touch 9380 will run its touchscreen at a middle-of-the-road smartphone resolution of 480x360, producing a screen pixel density count of 189ppi.
The RIM tech site also makes mention of the 9790, your more traditional 2.44" portrait/QWERTY BB model type, which is a phone previous internet leaks knew as the Bold Bellagio 9790.

BlackBerry Curve Touch 9380 'Orlando' gets pictured, tourists not included

These Blurrycam images you see above? Nope, not the Torch 9860. It's actually the BlackBerry Curve Touch 9380, also known as the Orlando. The phone's popped up on our radar screen once before as a render, with a few midrange specs revealed: a 800MHz Qualcomm MSM8655 processor, 3.25-inch HVGA screen, 5 megapixel camera with HD video, 1GB storage with microSD expansion and 512MB of RAM, and NFC were getting kicked around as possible features. We don't have any updates on the specs yet, but the forum member responsible for the images claims it's scheduled for a Q4 release, it runs on OS 7, and has two variants: the Orlando is actually of the GSM flavor, while the Malibu represents the CDMA side...
