The Tokina AF 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX is an impressive ultra-wide zoom lens especially with respect to its resolution characteristic. It is extremely sharp at all zoom and aperture settings with the only exception of some corner softness at 16mm @ f/2.8. Tokina lenses are renowned for the excellent build quality and the AF 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX is no exception to the rule. Everything feels solid and tightly assembled.

Overall this lens is a unique prospect for APS-C cameras and a very good performer. It is a shame that the levels of chromatic aberration are so high towards the edges, but if you can live with correcting this afterwards in image editing software, then this lens will reward you with sharp, contrasty wide angle images for a very reasonable price.

The-Digital-Picture‘s review Edit

The Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX Lens is a very popular lens and for good reasons. I know that I said the same thing in the Sigma 8-16mm f/4.5-5.6 DC HSM Lens Review, but, I think the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX Lens is also a great addition to the kit.
