Huawei MediaPad hits AT&T's tablet offering

AT&T is adding another tablet to its portfolio – Huawei MediaPad, which is already available in the U.S. as T-Mobile Springboard. Unfortunately, the device AT&T is selling comes with Honeycomb (rather than Ice Cream Sandwich) on board, though we’re sure Android 4.0 update will be released shortly. Moreover, the press release doesn’t mention multiple color options, hinting us the only version the carrier will offer is silver (which BTW looks pretty cool to me).
AT&T has already started selling the MediaPad to its enterprise users at varying price points depending on the business account. As for consumers, guess they’ll have to wait for few more days — I couldn’t find the tablet on AT&T’s webs...

Huawei MediaPad to ship with Ice Cream Sandwich, older models will be updated
Like UnlikeFiled in: TabletsHuaweiMediaPad
Last summer, Huawei’s MediaPad was one of the first manufactures to ship a device pre-loaded with Android 3.2 Honeycomb. The Chinese company is now attempting a similar strategy with the release of Ice Cream Sandwich. Existing models of the MediaPad will receive an Android 4.0 update by the end of the first quarter, and new MediaPads will come pre-loaded with the software beginning some time the first quarter. Additionally, the tablet will be offered in the current color scheme, and will add shadow black, classic brown, and passion pink to the mix. The MediaPad features a 7-inch 1280 x 800-pixel display that supports 1080p full HD video playback, a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and six...

Huawei MediaPad, Vision get priced in sterling, will arrive in UK within months
Like UnlikeFiled in: TabletsHuaweiMediaPad
We're still awaiting further details on the MediaPad's stateside arrival, but Huawei has already spilled the beans for those on the other side of the Atlantic. At an event in London this week, the Chinese manufacturer confirmed that its seven-inch, Honeycomb-plated slate will arrive in the UK by early 2012, with prices for the WiFi only version starting at £275 (around $437). The company also took the opportunity to announce the arrival of its Vision smartphone, which will invade Britain sometime before Christmas. Huawei says it'll cost around £25 (about $40), once provider subsidies are accounted for, though specific operators won't be announced until early next year. Rest assured, we'll ke...

Chinese manufactuer Huawei is set to launch a new tablet and smartphone into the market this week, both sporting an Android OS.
The Huawei Mediapad, originally launched in the US in June, comes with Android 3.2 Honeycomb has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor from Qualcomm, a front-facing 1.3MP camera, rear-facing 5MP camera and HDMI port.
The screen is said to be 7-inches, is capacitive and uses IPS (In-Plane Switching).
Battery life is a passable six hours and expect it to feature the likes of Facebook, Twitter and Documents to Go pre-installed.
We're sad to have to say it seems the Ice Cream Sandwich version of the tablet won't be coming any time soon, as the UK release date for the Honeycomb-t...

Huawei MediPad now available for pre-order in Singapore

It's here folks -- the planet's first Android 3.2 tablet. Huawei just introduced a downright luscious new slate over in Singapore, with CommunicAsia being the launchpad for the 7-inch MediaPad. It's the first high-profile 7-inch tablet we've seen in quite some time, and somehow or another, it's managed to leapfrog most of the currently shipping Honeycomb tablets with a build of Android we've only ever joked about. Huawei tells us that Honeycomb 3.2 is essentially the same as 3.1, but specifically tailored to 7-inch tablets as opposed to 10-inch. Packed within the MediaPad's 10.5mm shell, there's a 217 pixels-per-inch IPS capacitive touchpanel, GPS, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, 5 megapi...
