Pantech Crossover Pro Reviews

phonedog‘s review Edit

While testing out the Crossover, I kept thinking that there was something about it that just wasn't right. I couldn't put my finger on it, but I finally figured it out. The Crossover doesn't feel like a smartphone. Everything, from the small design and display to the overly thick and heavy hardware down to parts of Pantech's UI made this feel like a featurephone. You can't blame Pantech since featurephones is what they do, but this is a smartphone. To me, it looks like a featurephone and acts like a featurephone. If you need a mid-range device WITH a physical keyboard and you're with AT&T, the Crossover is a viable option. However, if you don't need that physical keyboard, then AT&T has better devices you should look into.

Phone Scoop‘s review Edit

Given how average this device is at everything, its chief selling point surely is the cost. At $69.99, it is an inexpensive option to the $129, $149, and $199 smartphones phones out there. As long as you can handle the data plan expense, there's no reason not to cross over from your feature phone to the Pantech Crossover.

PC World‘s review Edit

As with other entry-level Android phones, with the Pantech Crossover you really get what you pay for. Sluggish performance, subpar call quality, and horrific audio playback make this phone a tough sell. If you have a text-happy teenager who doesn't use apps and who already owns a stand-alone MP3 player, this phone will be suitable.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The Pantech Crossover has plenty to offer the budget-minded Android smartphone shopper on AT&T, although we would have liked to see a more responsive screen and faster CPU.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The Pantech Crossover is a well-built entry-level Android smartphone for AT&T customers who want a physical keyboard.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

No longer a bystander as other manufacturers set the bar with their line of smartphones, we’re actually happy to see Pantech finally making that leap of faith by jumping into this competitive market. By no means does the Pantech Crossover come off as a high caliber Android smartphone, but taking its affordable pricing and performance into consideration, it’s a reasonable start for a company known to make excellent feature phones. At $69.99 on-contract, it’s not going to break the bank, but even better is the fact that it provides an acceptable Android experience that’s the perfect go-to device for those who are curious about moving into the smartphone game.
