Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 Pro Reviews

slrgear‘s review Edit

Mechanically, you can tell that this isn't a thousand-dollar "L" model, as it has the somewhat plasticky feel of most inexpensive lenses. It worked very well though, and there's no arguing with the results. (We do wish there were a bit less CA though.)

photozone‘s review Edit

The Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 may not be the most attractive lens on the market but it is still interesting nonetheless. It is very affordable in combination with a pretty impressive optical performance (except CAs) and quite decent mechanics. However, it faces pretty stiff competition from the Sigma AF 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM which is a little better in the center but worse at the borders.

The-Digital-Picture‘s review Edit

The Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 Lens is both light in weight and light on your wallet.Measuring 2.6 x 1.7" (66 x 43mm) long and weighing 6.6 oz (186g), this lens qualifies for the tiny lens category.I found the Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 Lens to be similar to the Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 Lens and the Canon EF 35mm f/2 Lens in build quality and size. The small size is great. The build quality is not great - though acceptable to me for a lens of this stature.
