OPPO BDP-95 Pro Reviews

www.hometheater.com‘s review Edit

At $500, the BDP-93 overachieves in a big way, but I found the beefier analog section on the BDP-95 to sound warmer and more inviting, especially with high-resolution DVD-Audio and SACD discs. Its Redbook CD performance exhibits similar attributes, and its musical prowess equals that of high-end players costing much more. This is certainly a phenomenal bargain for those who are passionate about their music and want best-in-class Blu-ray performance all in one machine.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Oppo must be congratulated for bringing us the BDP-95EU – the latest in a strong line of innovative disc-spinners. With CDs it doesn't quite match the involvement of a top-flight dedicated player, but it sure comes close – at a fraction of the price. Switch to well-recorded high-res material, though and the Oppo leaps ahead. It's also an exceptional video player. There are one or two minor issues, notably relating to set up and multimedia playback – which, to be fair, is 'not unofficially supported' – and we hope that Oppo resolves them. But as it stands, the BDP-95 is one of the best universal players we've seen and represents excellent value for money.

AVForums‘s review Edit

Incredibly with the BDP-95EU Oppo have managed to produce a player that is even better than the already excellent BDP-93EU. In fact the BDP-95EU manages to include all of the capabilities that made the BDP-93EU so good and has even improved in the areas where it was weakest. The BDP-95EU is still able to produce pristine 1080p24 images from 2D and 3D Blu-rays and it can still handle just about any format you care to throw at it. In addition, the Marvell video processing is still capable of reference processing with standard definition and 1080i content. The BDP-95EU also offers the same flexibility when it comes to connectivity, including a second HDMI output, two USB ports and 7.1 analogue audio output as well as improved networking capabilities.
