Nintendo Wii Pro Reviews

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

For families and lovers of casual games, the still-affordable Wii represents the best console bundle value of the holiday season in terms of dollars spent; however, the Wii's getting long in the tooth, and other game consoles offer more entertainment options and functionality for their higher price tags.

As good as you'd hoped it would be. With an impressive launch line-up and a low launch price, the Nintendo Wii is a real triumph. Let's hope it gets the support it deserves.

The Wii provides a fun gaming platform for everyone. While the PS3 and the Xbox 360 are devices that are loved by many avid gamers, the Wii will be loved by the whole family. The scope of the games goes well beyond the shoot'em up games and extends to games that can be enjoyed by everyone.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Its former codename, Revolution, describes it superbly. The motion sensitive controllers are just that, and with the addition of extra controllers such as the Wii Fit Balance board, Nintendo is managing to take the concept outside the traditional realms of gaming.

Nintendo's follow-up to their popular GameCube—number three in the Big Three consoles of the previous generation—is the Wii (pronounced "we"), which represents a very different approach from SCEA's and Microsoft's next-gen gaming offerings.

Wired‘s review Edit

Many retail outlets sold out of Nintendo's tiny triumph on day one of its release. And deservedly so: Using the motion-sensing Wii remote to swing a virtual racquet or blast zombies is damn fun.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The bottom line: It lacks the graphical prowess and rich media features of the Xbox 360 and the PS3, but the Nintendo Wii's combination of unique motion-sensitive controllers and emphasis on fun gameplay make the ultra-affordable console hard to resist.
