Sony PSP go Pro Reviews

Engadget‘s review Edit

If we were to just take a look at the hardware at face value, we'd say Sony has done some great work here. It's a sturdy, classier game system that we're not as shy about taking out of our pocket on long, public commutes. We really do like the portable, but there's no way to separate our feelings on the hardware from all the decisions surrounding the launch...

It's way to early to make a definitive judgment on the Sony PSP Go, but from our early hands-on experience, we can't wait to find out more.

CrunchGear‘s review Edit

It’s not going to light the world on fire like the iPhone or anything, but it’s not a huge bucket of fail either. The Wi-Fi is murderously slow, and for something that’s supposed to be all about downloads, well, I think that’s an oversight on Sony’s part. Once your games have downloaded, though, then you’ve got as much space on there as you want.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Sony's new PSP Go is a beautifully designed bit of kit for gaming on the go and it certainly boasts that all-important wow-factor if you enjoy impressing your mates with genuinely new and innovative tech. It feels, looks and plays better than older versions of the PSP and in most ways better than Nintendo's DSi.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

We can't fault the handware on offer with the PSP Go. It looks excellent and is a pleasure to play with. The compact format means it slips into a jacket pocket more readily than before, but the removal of UMD means a whole stack of games are sitting in the corner, unloved.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The PSP Go is a sleek and sexy redesign, but its high price tag and some frustrating caveats mean it's not a must-have upgrade for existing PSP owners--at least for now.

Digital Trends‘s review Edit

The newfound pocketability is a step foward, but Sony takes too many simultaneous steps back to justify the price tag.

The PSP Go is the latest in the PlayStation Portable family. This mobile gaming device is smaller than its predecessors, and has a sliding design. It forgoes the UMD drive in favor of 16 GB of built-in memory.
