expertreviews‘s review Edit

It's got a low resolution screen, but if you want a SIM-free Android phone on a tight budget, it's a bargain

The Samsung Galaxy Mini is a neat, small smartphone at an attractive price. But check the specifications carefully to make sure the compromises will suit you before buying, though.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

It's incredibly cheap at £101, but the Samsung Galaxy mini makes several compromises to achieve such a low price tag. Most noticeable is the horribly low-resolution screen, second is the paltry 3Mp camera with no flash or autofocus, and third is an underpowered processor. But for young teens or those simply looking for an affordable Google Android touchscreen handset, the mini could be ideal.

Fast, affordable and packed with plenty of app potential, the Samsung Galaxy Mini is another budget Android phone that does Google's OS proud. However, it's joining an already-established and highly competitive crowd - and there are better options available for the same money.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

If you're willing to make some sacrifices to the speed and responsiveness of the handset in order to save a bit of dosh, the Samsung Galaxy Mini is a decent choice. It will appeal to those in the market for their first smartphone, looking for a simplistic experience. Android fanboys won't be very impressed with this handset as the poor screen quality makes the UI look just as low-end.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

The most important thing about a phone is its calling quality and we found the output of the microphone on the GALAXY mini clean and loud enough as our callers reported hearing us with the natural tone of our voice. The small low-res screen shouldn't tax the battery as much as those monstrous high-res displays, but don't expect this to boost battery life significantly as the phone lasts two days with moderate use.

GSMArena‘s review Edit

So, did the Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 give its best? It most certainly did but it would be no surprise if you failed to notice. You see, we can go on and on about value for money and delivering results within budget. But that won’t be telling the whole story about a phone like the Galaxy Mini. It all depends on where you’re coming from. You think the Galaxy Mini is too cheap to notice? Fair enough. But consider the difference it can make for first-time smartphone users. Back to the question we started with, the Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 is sure to give you its best. The thing is, if you get the Android bug you’ll soon want better. That’s the point of phones like this one. The Galaxy Mini is an invitation. We’d take it.
